Lucy Is Gone For Good?

Chapter 2: The Person In The Shadows and The Crystal Celestial Key!

 

“Oh, mannnn….” Lucy shied, “I can’t take much more of this. If Natsu keeps burning everything, and Gray keeps on freezing everything else, not to mention Erza and her rampages, then I won’t be able to afford my apartment anymore.”

Lucy stumbled on home from a long and tiring day. Her team, Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Happy, had yet again destroyed another town and got no rewards from the job.

“Maybe I can help you… Lucy Heartfilia.”  

A shiver ran up and down Lucy’s spine as the creepy voice slithered its way into her ear. She turned around and saw a giant shadow with someone in a cape in the middle. They were bent over like they were hiding something in their stomach. “How do you know my name? And How can someone like you help me, when you look homeless?” Lucy stated but noticed she was being a bit rude, “Would you like to come inside for some tea?”

The stranger didn’t take any offence to that at all, and scuffled up the stairs saying, “Well it’s about time…”

‘What is this guys problem’ She thought while tagging along up the stairs.

After the fifth tray of snacks and the seventh cup of tea the stranger finally said something. “So, how much longer until you and that pink-haired boy start going out? What was his name again…. oh, yes, it was Natsu….”

Lucy was caught by surprise and accidentally spit tea all over the strangers cape. “Wha- what made you think we are going out”

    “I, uh, read it in… uh, Sourcers Weekly?”

    “Well Natsu is just, uh, a friend. Nothing more, nothing less. Wait you read Sourcers Weekly?! I have a whole collection of them! What one is your favorite? I like the one where…..”

    Meanwhile, just outside Lucy’s window……

    “Come on Natsu, aren’t we going to sleep at Lucy’s tonight?” Happy asked.

    “No, Happy, not tonight...” Natsu slowly walked back to the guild with a shadow of depression over his head and an empty heart.

Back in Lucy’s Room

    “Any way… you said you could help me with my money problem, do you have a job for me or something?”

    “Well it’s more like a very expensive gift.” The stranger in the cape took out a 2in by 7in fancy box that they had kept close to their stomach earlier and gave it to Lucy. When she opened it up there was a crystal Gate Key in it.

    “Oh, wow, are you really just going to give it to me?”

    “Yes, I have no use for it, I am not a Celestial wizard. The spirit's name is Spear Heart, Guardian of the Gates. I must warn you though,” One of lucy’s windows flew open to reveal a storm brewing outside. A strong wind started to howl through out the room. “If you call upon her at the………. a shadow………. take over………... But if you are …….. and……... Great dragon…………... Then you…….. be reborn…………………”

“What?” The stranger disappeared out the window and into the night. “Come back! What were you trying to tell me?!!” Now there was nothing but the wind.

Lucy forced the window shut, then sat down on her bed to examine the key. It was pure crystal, clear sparkly and super hard, so Lucy stood up and held the key out to try summoning the spirit. “Open, Gate Of The Guardian! Spear Heart!” Lucy yelled while swiping the key in a cross motion.

~ Silence ~

“Did that freeloader give me a fake key?! This is a load of crap!”  Suddenly she felt a strange sharp pain in her right hand, the one she was holding the key in. When she looked down the key had turned completely black! Scared and confused she through the key out the window and into the river right outside.Then the world began to spin and turn black all at once………..

Tomorrow at noon you will turn black,

Then there is no turning back.

But, if you are burned you might return,

Only if it is a fire of love that will burn.

Your body will be turned to dust and be carried by the wind,

Then a Great Dragon you will find,

If she dubes you pure,

                                       Then she will give you the cure.
