ShadAmy: The Animal-Talker

Chapter 16

(Amy's Pov)

The next couple of hours we spend listening to Ariana and Shadow arguing.

Everyone but me and Sally and Sonic were talking how did they not notice that he is a prince. It was boring but I guess it had to happen.

After all if the arguments and chatter was done with, we managed to come up with a plan of what we will do. We had to stop Queen Fiona, and the only thing we thought was going there.

"Let's gather what we need" Tails said as he grabbed some backpacks, we all took one and nodded.

We all headed to the city to get out supplies, we walked around the market and even went to some farms out town. we collected some medical supplies I case any one got hurt, which I hope won't happen. Along with food, water, and a spare change of clothes.

We also had to stop by Tails' workshop to get the swords and certain parts of the armour fixed or just upgraded.

After all of that was done it was rather late to head out, we all agreed to just go home and rest. I was about to go with Sonic and Sally when I noticed Shadow was going the opposite way, he seemed rather sad. So being the person I am, I followed him.

After following him for a while, I noticed he was heading for the graveyard. He went to one of the tomb stones and just sat there.

"I know you've been following me, what do you want?" As I hear him speak, I jump a little. I walk up and sit beside him, keeping a little distance.

I look at the name that was graved into the tombstone "Maria Robotnik" I didn't even realise I said it out loud.

"She...she was a close friend of mine" I turn my head so I'm looking at him now, he had this painful look in his eyes. It hurt me to see him like this.

"...what happened? If I may ask" I say, as I look at the years, she died not that long ago. An year today to be exact.

"We spend a lot of time together, she was like a sister. One day we just went for a walk, and we got attack.... I failed to protect her and now.. here she is" I nodded as he finished.

"I'm really sorry to hear that... I guess that's the reason why you didn't want Ariana to go?" He looks at me and nods, before looking at the tombstone again.

A death like that must of been hard on him, I know how he feels. Seeing someone you love die.

"I know how you feel Shadow. I saw my parents die, it's really hard to see someone you love die."

He looks at me and says "sorry to hear that". I feel that I got to know the real Shadow, not the one he acts to be at the castle.

"Anyway. We have a long day tomorrow." he said as he stood up, he offered his hand to me and I gladly took it. He pulled me up and let go of my hand, I guess it was a gesture he learned as a prince. To offer his hand.

"Thanks for hearing me out, I appreciate that" he said, showing me a small smile before walking back to the castle.

I smiled to myself and walked home, this day wasn't that bad. I got to know the real shadow.

Sorry for the long wait. I just didn't have an idea for this chapter, then I remembered people wanted a ShadAmy scene. I also wanted a scene with Maria. So ta-da!
