Brooke Sighed and poured another drink for herself. She tossed it back and sat down next to her dad and Gabby. She really didn't want to tell them about this. It would hurt them, most importantly it would hurt her dad. The man had given his life to raising her and serving the king. Now in one fell swoop, she had to tell him that everything that had happened was a betrayal.
"We made it to the new world and dad and uncle mike began to build a new home. We were all happy and were flourishing. Uncle Mike reopened his bar and dad and I helped make it what it is today. When dad started getting hungry, I would find a lost forgotten soul and they would keep dad fed for a few days. This became our routine, until dad met King Linc. The king was impressed that daddy and Uncle Mike were able to make their bar so successful.
The king at the time was a human and had no knowledge of vampires or werewolves. Daddy is a direct descendant of Vlad the Impaler. Who as we all know is Dracula. Anyway, the king spent nearly every night at the bar. He grew fond of dad and Uncle Mike. He thought I was an annoying brat, but always said he liked me all the same. One night I brought an older lady home for dad. I didn't realize that Linc was following me.
He saw dad drink her blood and when I caught him watching, he wasn't afraid. Like me he seemed to accept it without question. I brought him inside to dad and we explained what he and Mike were.
"Daddy, look who I caught following me and watching you feed." Brooke said pulling Linc into the room.
"King Linc? Why did you follow my daughter home?" Lucian asked growling.
"You are so secretive about where you live. I wanted to find out why. Now I know, you drink blood. I mean it's weird, but you don't have to hide it." Linc said.
"That is now why we hide Linc." Mike said.
Brooke chuckled. King Linc believed that Lucian was just a weirdo who liked to drink blood. The American's had never heard of a Vampire or werewolf. Brooke looked at her uncle and nodded her head. Mike stood up and phased. Linc stepped back, although he was not afraid, he was amazed.
"You're not afraid?" Lucian asked.
"No, if you haven't hurt me by now you not going to. What exactly are you Mike? Do you turn into a wolf as well Luc?" Linc asked.
"No, Mike is a werewolf, I am a vampire. We are direct descendants of Vlad the Impaler from Transylvania. Vlad became a vampire after losing Elizabetta, his one true love. He found me two hundred and sixteen years ago and turned me into what I am. Mike was turned by one of the wolves Vlad commanded. We were hunted for years in our homeland, so Mike moved here to find a better life. Brooke and I followed suit." Lucian explained.
"Now the question is what do we do about you?" Brooke asked.
"What do you mean?" Linc asked her.
"Well I am not going to let my dad and uncle go on the run because you found out what they are. We are quite happy here."
"What if you turn me into a vampire?"
"What?" Lucian asked.
"Well you don't want others to know about you and if you change me then as king, I can keep suspicion off you."
"The people will notice you not getting older. What about that?" Brooke asked.
Michael began to chew on a pillow and Brook threw a towel at him.
"Now stop that. If you are going to remain as your wolf go outside. Otherwise phase back you mangy mutt."
Lucian and Linc laughed as Michael phased back. He growled at Brooke and his brother.
