Chapter 15

Gabby finished up with the transfusions on Anthony. She, Lucian, and Brooke sat down in chairs surrounding the bed. Michael knocked on the door and entered the room without conformation. He went straight to the balcony and opened the doors. When he looked back at Brooke, there was a gigantic smile on his handsome face. Brooke smiled back at him and nodded.

"You're not angry at her, are you?" Gabby asked.

"No, I just wanted to make sure that she got the right wolves." Michael said.

"What do you mean brother?" Lucian asked.

"Those three wolves were undermining my authority as Alpha. So, when Brooke asked if there was three wolves that would be willing to give their lives for Anthony, I gave her their names and told her that they would probably fight her."

"So, you sent her out to assassinate three wolves?" Lucian asked, his tone sounding dangerous.

"What? I gave her the names; I was only trying to help."

"You took advantage of her to get rid of three wolves you couldn't keep under control. How could you do that?"

"Easy dad. No matter what his reason was to give me their names, it worked. Anthony is healing much faster and now that the wolfs bane is out of his system, he will be healed in less than a day. Besides not to agitate this situation but I am an accomplished assassin. It is what I am the best at." Brooke said.

"Your uncle was misguided in his decision and I am very disappointed in him. However, I am happy that you ended up saving Anthony. I also want to tell you how proud I am of you that you gave up getting Anthony back to save Peri's life. You have a kind and giving soul. So, this once I am going to not lose my shit that you were once again used to kill people, for personal gain."

Michael smirked at his brother and looked back at the dead wolves on the balcony. He sighed and walked out to them and threw their bodies to the lawn below. Brooke walked out to him and sighed. She hated giving him orders but she couldn't allow him to just throw their bodies to the gaters at the far end of the land.

"You need to give them a proper burial. They gave their lives to save another. They deserve to be buried properly."

"Yes of course. I will have my second bury them."

"Thank you, Uncle Mike."

Brooke walked back to Anthony. She sat down in her chair and held his hand. Anthony opened his eyes and looked at her. He smiled at her weakly. Brooke smiled at him and brushed the hair from his face and kissed him.

"Hey beautiful, never thought I would see that face again."

"I would never let them take you from me for good. Not to mention I had some help from our family. I am so sorry I chose to save Peri over you, but I couldn't let him kill her."

"Stop that now babe, you did the right thing. I love you even more for what you did. You are the most amazing woman and I am so lucky to be your mate."

"I am the lucky one baby; do you feel like sitting up and eating something?"

"Yeah, I may need some help. I am still healing."

Brooke smiled and helped him sit up enough that he could eat. He smiled at the people in the room. He saw Lucian and his smile dropped. He was angry at Lucian for leaving Brooke behind. He tried to stand up, but Brooke stopped him.

"There is nothing to be angry at my dad over love. He thought I was dead, that is why he left me behind. You can squash your anger at dad and use it on Samuel."
