Gabby and Abby were stunned silent. They looked back and forth to Lucian and Michael. Brooke looked down at the table waiting for one of them to talk. When neither one of them said a word, Brooke poured them each another drink. She still had a lot of story left to tell them. Gabby downed her shot and looked at Brooke.
"My dad was not a vampire when he met you?"
"No, Lucian changed him at his request, we made him king of the vampires to keep dad safe. He is the creator of us all and if he dies than we all die." Brooke said.
"Being king is what got dad killed." Abby said angrily.
"No trusting the wrong man is what got Linc killed." Brooke said back, her calm voice betraying her anger.
"What do you mean Brookie?" Lucian asked.
"You want me to continue with the story?" Brooke asked.
"Yes." They all said in unison.
Brooke stepped into Salem and smiled at those who passed her. She knew who she was looking for and went directly to her house. When George Sibley answered the door, she bowed her head in respect.
"Good day, Mr. Sibley." Brooke said.
"Good day Miss Delorna. What can I do for you today?"
"Is your daughter Mary and her girl Tituba home?"
"Yes, let me get them for you. Please come in."
"No, thank-you Mr. Sibley. I am headed to church and was wondering if Mary and Tituba wanted to accompany me. To pray for those who have gone against god."
"Why yes. They would love to go with you. Wait here and I will get them."
"Thank you, Mr. Sibley."
George left the door open and sent a servant to get the girls. When they saw Brooke at the door, they ran outside calling goodbye to George.
"Walk with me, we need to talk." Brooke said, knowing George was watching them as they walked toward the church.
"What's up Brooke?" Tituba asked.
"Look I know what you are. I also know that if you don't get out of this town you will both die. My father has offered you asylum. If you make daylight rings and stay on for when we really need you. Are you two interested?"
"Yes." They said.
"Okay, meet me in the graveyard after dinner and we will go. We will plant evidence that you were killed, and you will be free from persecution."
They nodded and Brooke broke off and disappeared into the woods and to the cave she had made home. She visited Salem so often that she had to find a place to relax when she was here. She would wait until dinner time and plan what she was going to do to fake their deaths. She was going to have to keep showing herself, so that no one got suspicious of her, but she was ready to be done with this Puritan hell.
Brooke planned out every detail meticulously. She caught two wild boars and two deer. She collected the blood from the animals in buckets and skinned and de-meated the bones and placed them in the buckets with the blood. When darkness fell, she carried the buckets to the graveyard and began to set up everything. Twenty minutes later Mary and Tituba showed up and Brooke smiled.
"Did you bring extra clothing?"
"Yes, why?" Mary asked.
"Take the clothing you have on, off and give them to me and put on other clothing. Hurry up now."
