Chapter 13

Brooke and Lucian moved silently invisible to everyone around them. They ran along the castle walls and slipped inside. Brooke waited as three guard walked along the hallway. They moved fast down into the dungeon. Lucian could hear the screams from the innocent people Samuel had locked down here. He spoke silently to Brooke.

We cannot leave the rest of them; we have to get them out.

Agreed, let Gabby know we are going to take the guards out and bring all the prisoners home. The carriage will be ready. We are also taking the guards with us. They will be punished, and I refuse to let that happen.

Lucian let the others know about the change and got a good response. Dragonetti and the council were keeping Samuel distracted. Brooke lunged out at the guards. She quickly knocked them out and dragged them out of the dungeon through the old escape tunnels, that even Samuel didn't know about. Lucien and Brooke worked fast unlocking doors and having those who were strong enough help those who weren't.

When Kenneth and the others got down there, the work went faster. Robert and Kenneth found Anthony and got him out while Brooke and Lucien got the others. Once everyone was out Brooke resealed the tunnels and they all escaped. Brooke drove the carriage while the others attended to the hurt and sick. Once they were home, the familiars helped set everyone up in personal rooms.

Robert and Kenneth placed Anthony in Brooke's room and left her to attend to him. Once everything was settled Brooke began to care for Anthony's many wounds and to flush the wolfs bane out of his system. Brooke had to keep forcing fish oil down his throat to make him throw up. With as much wolfs bane they had fed him; it would be a week before he could do anything.

She cried as he threw up over and over. His pain becoming her pain. Mates should never be separated. When Samuel took him away and locked him in the dungeon her heart damn near exploded.

"Brooke?" Anthony asked weakly.

"Easy my love, your safe now. I am going to nurse you back to health. Just rest. You're with me."

He closed his eyes and sighed. Brooke turned and saw Eliza and Lionel watching them. She smiled softly at them and stood up.

"Watch him. Do not let anyone in this room and come get me when he is awake. I am going to go make sure the others are settling in. Lionel if there is anyone outside on the balcony kill on sight. Do not let anyone near him."

They nodded and Brooke left the room. When she reached the hallway, she saw her dad standing guard outside her room. She hugged him, trying not to let the tears fall. She was the reason Anthony was in pain. Samuel hated her with a fiery passion. Lucian hugged her back and vowed to end Samuel no matter what.

"I am going to set up a meeting for you with Peri. When you get back, I will be a hybrid. We are going to end him for the pain he has caused Anthony."

"No, you will not become like Samuel." Lucian said.

"Dad, there are only three people who can beat him by becoming a hybrid. If Peri does not allow Anita to help, we need a backup plan."

"You said Samuel was crazy because he is a hybrid. What makes you think you will not go crazy?"

"He went crazy because he has a weak mind. He couldn't handle the constant fight between the wolf and the vampire. My mind is not weak I am the strongest of us all. It is my part to play."

"I don't like this."

"I know but we all have a role to play this will be mine. Yours is to get Peri to let Anita help."

"Tell me about them."

"Peri is a shifter, and Animagus. Her full name is Persephone she is married to Percy. She demands respect at the highest volume. Anita is a witch that was sent to raise Peri. The gods chose her because she is a highly powerful witch. Respect them they will respect you."
