The Vampire Princess

Chapter 16

 Lucian woke the next morning with Gabby in his arms. He smiled and sighed pulling her closer to him. He closed his eyes again and sighed with contentment. He fell back asleep and began to dream about the war they were going to face with Samuel. He sat up straight and jolted out of bed. He had heard a loud crash come from downstairs.

Brooke was in hybrid form fighting another hybrid. Lucian went to go to her rescue when Anthony pulled him back. Anthony only shook his head to Lucian and put a finger to his mouth to tell him to be quiet. Lucian watched Brooke fight the hybrid and was surprised when the hybrid went from hybrid form to vampire form.

Samuel stood there shocked to be only a vampire. He looked at Brooke and growled. Anthony and the others stepped out from their hiding spaces and descended on Samuel. Brook growled and prepared to pounce. Lucian called out to her.

"No princess, we are going to take him hostage before we kill him. Only injure him."

Brooke growled again and bit his leg rendering him useless. The poison from her bite was already coursing through his veins taking him down. Kenneth and Robert drug him into the sun chamber, taking his daylight ring. Lucian looked at Brooke and sighed.

"Come back Brookie. Everything is okay now, you did your job, come back."

Brooke growled and pawed at him. Anthony stepped in front of Lucian and smiled at her. Brooke slowly came back to her old self. She shook the wolf thoughts out of her head and looked around. She was frightened of her own power and for the first time since he had known her Lucian saw terror in her eyes.

"Brooke, Keep calm your stronger than the demons inside. You control them they don't control you. Remember that." Gabby said calmly stepping to her.

"I am scared, the wolf is so strong."

"I know baby. Just remember you are stronger than the wolf, and stronger than the vampire. You are in charge. Keep yourself calm and you will stay in charge."

Brooke sighed trying to bring herself back to a calm place, finally the demons stopped fighting and she was back in control of them. She looked at Gabby and smiled. Gabby knew exactly what she needed to be back in control. Anthony and Lucian looked at their girls. They were so proud of them both.

"Why did you want to take him prisoner? My venom is going to slowly kill him." Brooke said.

"Now that he is only a vampire, we can get information from him about his allies that will help us in the long run." Lucian said.

"Well if you want that kind of information why didn't you ask me? I have all of it."

"Oh yeah. Well also this way I can watch him suffer the way you suffered."

"Dad, revenge is never a good thing you only want him to suffer because you believe that it is what I want. When I reality all I want is to end this chapter and begin a new one with my family."

"Fine we will open the shades and let him burn.

Brooke nodded thoughtfully and then grabbed Lucian's arm.

"Actually, there is one thing I want to ask him before he dies."

"What is that?"

"Find out who my mom was. Samuel never told me, and I want to know who she was so that I can finally close this part of my life and maybe find that missing piece of myself. I never had a mom and I need to know why."

"Alright, you cannot go in there. We will send in....."

"No one. We will talk through the speakers. No one goes near him."
