❦ Chapter 33 ❦

Taehyung Pov

After the threatening messages from Jaebum, I entered the school with an unpleasant feeling in my stomach. I kept looking over my shoulder to see if Jaebum was approaching me from behind or something. After Jeon Jeongguk, he was the most dangerous student of our school, so I had a lot of respect for him and therefore a lot of fear.

Although Jaebum had never been involved in a brutal fighting like Jeongguk, he used almost always the worst way to terrorize students. Robbing those students their peaceful sleep to enforce his will and let everyone do what he wants. He and Jeongguk were really top class. People you shouldn't mess with.

"Hey Taehyung", Jimin put happily giggling his hand on my shoulder and scared me to death, so I squeaked quietly. After I realized that it was fortunately only my best friend and not Jaebum, I breathed relieved, stopped and slowly turned to him. I really had to calm down, otherwise I would die of a heart attack.

Jimin frowned in confusion, tilting his tiny head a little bit to the right side. "What's wrong with you? It's just me...", he said and entangled his fingers with Yoongi's, who has been looking at his smartphone all the time. I waved it off with a crooked smile and said that everything was okay.

"It's all good... You just scared me a little, Jimin~," I lied softly mumbling and shoved my cell phone into my back pocket. Fortunately Jimin didn't pay attention to my reaction anymore, so the three of us could walk through the corridors and have a little chat. Nevertheless, I always had to think that Jaebum could appear anywhere to make his threat come true.

Maybe I was just too paranoid. Jaebum usually skipped lessons. Unless a test or a exam was written. I forced myself to stay calm and concentrate on today's subject matter. After all, the exams were in less than a month. This school year was as stressful and nerve-racking as never before. How bad...

First, the partner presentation with Jeongguk. Then this fucking stress with having good grades everywhere and not to forget the problem with Jaebum now, who wanted my homework in biology. Should I just send it to him?, I asked myself when I was sitting in math class and was lost in my thoughts once again.

But I pushed this thought immediately out of my head. I shouldn't give him anything after all of those messages, but had to enforce my point of view. I took Jaebum's threat seriously, but I had been working on this text for so long and didn't want to do all this work again. Even though I was terribly afraid of him, I had to keep on and not let everyone boss me around!

Fortunately, the school day was quite normal and I hadn't met Jeongguk or Jaebum. Was it really a coincidence that of all people the two worst students had me on the trigger, or did fate, aka this bad traitor, just hate me? Unintentionally, I had to think of Jeongguk's words last Friday.

"You have more of a girl than a guy", he had said, and I had to admit that those words had offended me a little bit. That's why I threw these mean things at his head and as a punishment, he gave me bruises that you'd see for weeks.

But instead of being mad at him for hurting me... I felt guilty. Pretty guilty. Just because I said he wouldn't find any friends because of his mean behaviour. What if I had hurt him very much? I had seen Jeongguk's -comparatively- nice side... His caring, cool side, which I really liked very much. However, I had screwed up with him.

I can't believe I swore myself of the year that I wouldn't cross Jeongguk's path or have anything to do with him, but now I hoped he would write me another message?

Either I was sick or Jeon Jeongguk already had a small place in my heart.
