Aiden's POV
I sighed as I once again tried to build up the courage to enter my now camatose son's room.
"Baby we have to go in there", Sammy said as he wrapped his arms around me, from behind.
I breathed his scent deep into my lungs because no matter how old we get, his scent will always bring me comfort.
I turned around in his arms and he wrapped his arms around my waist and laid his head above my beating heart.
"I'm scared I'll find something in there",I said softly as I kissed his hair.
"Our son hasn't spoken to us in four years. We haven't seen him four years, every opportunity to help him has just made it worse. I know that there's a hard road ahead of us but we've already faced four hard years without our son. We can do this, I'm right here beside you", He said before he kissed my lips softly.
This man in front of me is my entire world. In the army I never thought I'd want this. A mate, a future, a home. But with Sammy it's everything. Peaceful, adventurous, crazy and most of all fulfilling. I'm content with this man, the life I built with him.
"I love you so damn much", I whispered against his lips as we laid our foreheads together.
"And I love you. Now our son needs us. The both of us and we have to be ready and willing to face a shit storm together. Now open the door", He said and stepped back.
I turned around again and dawdled for a minute or two. Sammy said nothing. I placed my hand on the handle and just let it rest there. I couldn't find the willpower to press the handle down.
Sammmy stepped up and placed his hand on top of mine and pressed downwards. Together we opened the door.
The sight that met me was nothing like I expected. The room looked clean, fresh, odd considering what had happened here.
The office was simple. It contained a large black desk, piled with a laptop, files, pens, and books. There were four couches laid out around the room, and books to fill the entire room. There was a bedroom down the short passageway, and a bathroom to the right and to the left was the kitchen. I surveyed the office as we passed. The couch was filthy, stained and it reeked of God knows what. Liam obviously spent most of his time here in the office.
The desk was filthy, piled up high with books, files and it was full of dust. The shelves of books were unorganized, dusty.
The kitchen wasn't the worst. It was hardly used.
We walked into the bedroom and I took a deep breath in. I could clearly see my son lying on the bed dying. The room also looked odd. The curtains, floor, even the TV and sound system was filthy. It had dust all over it and apart from occasional fingerprints here and there the dust was left undisturbed. But it was cleaner than I expected it to be. There wasn't dirty clothes or beer bottles lying around.
I walked to the window and smiled as I looked outside. The office had the best view compared to the rest of the rooms. You could see most of the pack from here, your entire legacy standing before your eyes.
Sammy called my name softly and I rushed over to his side.
He was standing in front of two letters that lay kn the nightstand, our names scribbled on the cover of one envelope and someone else's on the other.
