Aiden's POV
"Papa?" I heard softly and I jerked my head up to see my son awake.
He remembers me! Oh Luna!
"Liam! Oh Liam." I gasped as I shook Sammy up and immediately sat on the bed and pulled my son into a hug.
Sammy, Hunter and I were all waiting for Liam to get up. It was almost midnight and we waited anxiously for him to wake up after passing out.
Surprisingly and even more heartwarmingly, my son wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tighter.
"I missed you Pa." He said softly before I felt his tears soak into my shirt.
"I missed you too son.So, so much. And I'm never letting you go ever again." I said and felt him nodd into my neck as he gasped out a sob.
"Liam!" Sammy gasped and quickly came to sit on the bed.
Liam wrapped his arms around his father, and he hugged him just as tight. Soon they were crying as they laid their foreheads together, I knew Sammy's wolf, Kaleb, was talking to Hades. It warmed my heart to see Liam responding back to us.
"Liam! You're awake!" I heard Hunter gasp as he quickly placed down the coffee, he went to fetch, and Liam eagerly wrapped his arms around his brother.
Hunter and Liam were extremely close growing up, both of them being boys as they teased and troubled their sister to the annoyance and frustration of both Sammy and I. Those boys never failed to try and irratate and make her angry.
"You pull shit like that again and I'll bring you back just to kick your ass so damn hard." He swore before he faked punched his brother.
"Like you could ever manage to beat me in a fight." Liam said as he wiped his tears.
Hunter smiled a watery smile and I could only imagine what he was thinking, it was so nice to be back to throwing insults with my brother.
"You must be hungry! Hunter call your sister and tell her to bring Faybelle over. Liam must meet her. Aiden you go and fetch some food for my son. Go, go." Sammy said as he took charge and ordered us around.
"Bossy." I mumbled but went to do as asked. I made quick work of fetching some chicken soup and milk tart for Liam and carried it back to the room.
Hunter had closed the curtains and he and Sammy were helping Liam change into comfortable clothes.
I sat the food down on the table and waited for them to finish their work.
"Guys I'm not that weak or incapable, I feel fine." He protested but allowed them to change him into comfortable sweats and a shirt.
"You're my son and I want to help you. Now hush and sit properly." Sammy said and helped him back into the bed.
We placed the table over his lap and I sat the food down for him.
"Thanks Papa." He said gratefully. He smiled at me before he picked up the spoon and ate eagerly, he was eating fast but not fast enough to cause him unease.
"How do you feel?" Hunter asked and then shut his mouth at the look Sammy threw him.
"It's okay Dad. I know what I did. Surprisingly I feel good, great actually. I feel as if a weight has been lifted of my shoulders, I feel like I can breath again. As for the tattoos and markings, Hades says they mark a warrior. They tell a story and I feel comfortable. I feel better than I've felt in the last 10 years. I'm not sorry I did what I did. I can't apologize for feeling the way I did and locking myself away. I can apologize for not reaching out and maybe trying to get help.
I see now that all I needed to do was ask. And you'd have helped me every way you knew how. But I didn't understand it back than, I was so hurt, confused, afraid, rejected and miserable and I didn't know how to handle it. But I promise to try harder." He sighed and said as he placed down his spoon and looked at each of us.
"I know baby. I'm sorry if you felt like you couldn't talk to us. I want you to know that we're here for you. And we will always be here for you to talk to." Sammy said and squeezed Liam's hand before Liam went back to eating.
We heard a gasp and we all turned to look at the doorway. Madelyn Rose was standing there holding Faybelle. The child was knocked out and was sleeping soundly.
She walked into the room and handed Faybelle to me before she immediately made her way to Liam.
He pushed the table aside and welcomed his sister into a hug.
It was emotional for all of us, to see Liam, smiling and looking well. And allowing us to see and touch him after so long.
"Caleb was here, he left just over an hour ago, Daniaal was worried where he was. He really wanted to see you." Hunter said and we all looked at Liam.
He seemed unfazed by hearing Caleb's name and continued to eat his soup and bread.
"I will see him tomorrow. " He said and shrugged.
"Oh by the way Pa, I know this is kind of crazy to bring up now but I'd like to have a pack meeting tomorrow, as soon as possible. I need to speak to my people." Liam said proudly and I couldn't help but feel proud.
Could this be the turning point for the better in all of our lives?
"If you feel rested than yes you can. Don't over excert yourself", Sammy and patted his knee.
"Meet Faybelle, your sister, she just turned one." Sammy said and took her from me and held Faybelle out for Liam to see.
"She's beautiful." He said and softly ran his finger down her cheek.
"Don't be fooled, she's a strong one, she pinches a lot. Lord knows where she learnt that from." I said and looked at Sammy pointedly.
Sammy tends to pinch all of us when he wants us to behave, if the kids are misbehaving he gives them a small pinch on their arms and it gets them behaving in no time. He even pinches me! They sting like hell.
"What? Y'all don't listen otherwise!" Sammy exclaimed and we all chuckled.
"We should get to bed, you need to rest and give your body time to heal and we'll be back first thing tomorrow morning to bring you home. Okay?" Sammy said and Liam nodded.
Despite sleeping for so long, his eyes were getting droopy and you could tell he was feeling drowsy.
"Thanks Dad." He said and we helped him push the table aside and clear the dishes. Hunter took them back to the nurses and Madelyn Rose helped him get comfortable under the blankets.
"Love you." He mumbled before he was sleeping.
Sammy looked at me tearfully and I smiled softly at him.
We were going to be okay, I thought, as we walked back to our room to get Faybelle into bed, Luna knows she'll be up at the crack of dawn when she wants to eat soft bread and tea. That child of ours hates baby food.
