Book 2 of the West Series.
Liam West has always carried a heavy weight on his shoulders. Being the Alpha of a pack that didn't exist until after he was born, he always knew the pack was his responsibility the minute he turned eighteen. He had to do...
"Not at all. I think they're more surprised we managed to wait this long. It's been almost five years since we mated and honestly I thought I would've married your sexy ass a long time ago." I said and winked at him.
"I didn't want to rush into it. We were so different and so much had happened. We were so hurt, getting married so soon and maybe we wouldn't have made it through." he said sighed as he gazed out of the window, distractedly.
"I would've fought for you and I still will. Nothing and no one was going to keep us apart." I stated firmly and went over to where he was sitting, on the plush window seat.
He simply opened his arms and I climbed onto his lap and hugged him.
Holding and being held by Liam was euphoric. I could stay in his arms and I'd know that I was okay and safe. I was content in his arms and I loved it.
"When are we going to tell them?"
"Want to pick out our rings first and then tell them? And I don't want to wait. I want your last name." He said and kissed my temple.
"I was thinking we go half half. I want your name too because I want the world to know you're mine and you own me, mind, body, soul and name." I chuckled.
"God Caleb I love your silly ass. I love you. I'll never stop. I never did stop. I know I've mentioned this a few times before but those years when you were with Daniaal were so dark and painful for me. I never thought I'd see light, I never had hope I'd find light. Words can't describe how it felt to be so close to you yet so far away.
There was never anyone else for me but you. I knew in my heart that this wasn't just unrequited love or love I couldn't get over. It was the kind that you just know that you've loved someone so deeply and completely that you'd never love anyone ever again. And I'm not ashamed to say Daniaal got what he fucking deserved."
After much and extensive debate we all agreed that Daniaal couldn't be allowed to live nor could he die because that would be too easy of a punishment for him. He needed to suffer as Liam and I have.
Since he didn't have a mate, he broke the bond between him and his mate we couldn't punish him that way.
So it was decided that his wolf should be ripped from him, he should not be allowed a companion, a friend who completes your being if he's going to neglect and abuse those gifts.
With Liam's Alpha abilities, much more powerful abilities he has now ever since he came back from the dead, he was able to put Daniaal's wolf to sleep. Permanently.
He was then cast out of the pack and was warned never to return. He had no choice but to go to the city and blend in with the humans. Last I heard about him, he was booked for depression and loneliness because he couldn't deal with the severe aloneness he felt without his wolf.
"Liam look at me." I waited until his eyes locked onto mine.
"The love I hold for you right now is more than anyone could ever love you. And nothing is going to change that. You can tell me a hundred times about what you went through and the only thing I'll do is wrap you tighter in my arms and love you a little more because you deserve the world."
He kept quiet but crushed me into his arms.
"We have to go you know." I said softly after minutes of silence and cuddles.
"You had to go and ruin it. I was falling asleep." He murmured as I laughed softly.
I turned his face to mine and kissed him softly, loving the feel of his lips against mine and the feel of our hearts beating in unison.

"Do you like it?"
"It's beautiful." I said in awe of the wedding band in front of me.
"It is a beautiful piece, modern, different and seeing it on your partner's finger just makes you fall in love with it all over again." The salesman said as we admired the ring.
We were in an elegant jewellery store picking out rings. There were a few other customers in here as well, a mature older lady, a young couple, and two older couples. Both of us agreed that we didn't want simple gold wedding bands as our rings and we wanted something that was more modern and would look hot.
We were currently admiring a thick black ring. We were both awed at it. It was simple yet looked absolutely beautiful. And against Liam's colored tattooed fingers, it really stood out.
"We'll take -"
"Everybody get on the floor right now!" A thick male voice shouted before rapid gunfire was heard.
Liam and I immediately dropped to the floor and looked up as three men stood at the entrance of the shop. They were dressed in complete black pants, tops and they had bullet proof vests. The lower half of their faces were covered with material but it was two white men and a tanned skin man.
The two white men marched over to the salesmen and demanded they give them all the money and jewellery.
The leader, the one who was issuing everyone with orders that they had to stay on the ground, not make any noise, the salesmen were not to trigger the alarms and if we all followed orders we would be alright.
I gripped Liam's hand in mine as we watched the events unfold in front of us.
I jerked up when we all heard loud and clear the police sirens.
"You fuckers." The leader growled as he grabbed the elderly woman and aimed the gun at her head.
"Liam no." I whispered as he let my hand go and jerked up to help the older woman.
He made a run for the leader and I watched in horror as bullets tore threw him in rapid succession.
"Nooo!" I screamed in horror as I watched and heard as his lifeless body fell to the floor. I looked into his cold dead eyes and tears just poured out of my eyes onto my cheeks.
"Liam baby please! No please, Liam wake up. Baby please don't leave me. Baby! Liam!" I screamed as I huddled over his bloody body and jerked him harshly.
He should be healing. Why isn't he healing?
"You're a fag." I heard the murderer growl.
"You killed him!" I screamed as my heart ripped to shreds in my chest.
"One less faggot in the world." He said and he looked at me with glee.
I screamed as I charged for him and gasped in pain as the bullets tore through me. Multiple, all at once.
I groaned in pain as I fell to my knees.
"Two less faggots in the world." He said but I ignored him.
I tried to breathe through the pain as I crawled over to my beloved. I laid my head on his chest as I choked on my blood and felt my heart rate slowing down.
Is this what it feels like to die?
Luna watched the events unfold in front of her and felt pity in her heart. She couldn't change what was supposed to happen and it hurt her to feel and see her creation in pain.
You can always try to change your fate but destiny will always catch up. What's meant to happen will always happen. One way or another.
She knew that sometimes some love people are just not meant to have. And some people are just Not Meant To Be.
