Preview: It's been almost three years since Katherine's joined the Homicide division of the New York Police Department. She finally has a break in the murder case of her parents. She immediately notifies her team and captain, however, the reaction of them all shocks Katherine. They told her to, "Leave it alone." In fury Katherine investigates the lead by herself, putting her in harm...

Sitting in her lounge chair, peacefully enjoying a cup of coffee, Katherine jumped when her cell phone began ringing in her jean pocket. She set down her cup and reached for the phone. Katherine looked at the phone, and plastered a confused expression on her face. The called ID stated that it was from an, "UNKNOWN" NUMBER. Shrugging her shoulders, Katherine pressed the big green button and held the device up to her ear.
"Hello? Katherine McCann speaking."
Then back round noise in the other line was very loud. The person was breathing heavily, "Tomorrow night, at the abandoned wear house on Vanderbilt Avenue in the Bronx will be the man who killed your parents. He's doing a drug trade. Go if you want to catch this guy."
The persons husky voice was very shaken, like the man was scared. Katherine's eyes lit up because for the past almost three years, she has had no leads. Now this.
"Sir, do you have any other details?"
"Uh-" The man stuttered before Katherine heard yelling in the back round noise, "NO. I have to go." With that the line went blank. Katherine cursed, "God damn!"
Katherine then heared a knock at her appartment door, she walked over and looked through the small peep hole. It was just Cain. She opened the door and smiled at him, grabbing his arm and pulling him in. Cain was taken aback by her enthusiasm. He smiled back and let out a deep hearty laugh.
For almost the past three years, Katherine and Ex SEAL Cain Cavenaugh have become such great friends. They both rely on each other when they need it. Both detectives have had rough pasts. Katherine's parents where murdered, and Cain's father was once and U.S. Navy SEAL. Sadly, he was killed during a raid. No one knows exactly how he was shot. Whether friendly fire, or the enemies. His mother died a few years after with cancer.
In his father and mothers memory Cain enlisted in the Army working his way up and training to be an alete SEAL. After a few tours, he retired as Lieutenant Commander Cain Cavenaugh. Quite the title for Military.
After his retirement from the Military, he slowly became a Homicide Detective.
"I have good news!" Katherine exclaimed.
"Shoot." Cain responded telling her to say what the good news was.
"Someone called me and told me that the man who killed my parents would be at the abandoned wear house on Vanderbilt Avenue in the Bronx dealing drugs!"
"So? Cain questioned.
"Cain, I finally have a lead! And we are going to catch this bitch!"
She affectionately grabbed a hold of Cain's muscular back and pulled him into a hug. However, he didn't hug back. Cain knew this would end badly because Captain Briggs would tell her to just forget it.
