Hey ya'll! How have you guys been? Sorry, didn't get to write on my little camping trip. Just too busy! We went to the Cowtown rodeo in woodstown New Jersey! Best Saturday ever! Wore my legit cowgirl boots and hat. :-D Loved it! Two riders got hurt, one guy who was bare back bronc riding dislocated his arm and another guy who was saddle back bronc riding got pinned into the wall/ gate in front of me!! Crazy stuff! LOL I was eyeballing this really cute cowboy who was helping out in the rodeo though. Freaking cute!!!

Anyway, enough of my crazy rant. Here's chapter five, enjoy. :D

Chapter 5

Pulling into precinct building thirteen, Detective Jackson caught his eyes on his partner walking up the steps of station. He quickly followed her in, calling out to her, "Hey Blye, whatcha got?"

He noticed a large plastic bag within her grasp. Kensi placed the bag on the table, and removed its contents. Inside was a new box which contained a Ruger MKIII hand gun. "Pretty sweet ye?" Blye said admiring the box.

"Yea. Did you check for prints?"

"Yes. Only ones that were on it, were our vic's."

Jackson opened the box and surly enough, there was the hand gun inside. He looked inside of the barrel, and twitched his eyebrow.

"Hump. Nothing. Not even fired once."

"Yeah. Now we are right back to square one."

"Dammit!" Jeremy slammed his fist down onto the table causing everyone in the precinct to look up and stare at the red faced man. Running a hand over his slicked back hair falling from its hold. He took a deep breath and stood back up, trying to stay calm.

Six months later...

It has been almost a year into the investigation of the wrongful murders of Melissa and Jonathan McCann. Almost a year of no leads, no witnesses, no nothing. Both detectives have spent several hours of their own personal time to try and crack the case, but nothing seems to break through. Every path they took seemed to be a dead end.

The past six months has also been agonizing for Katherine McCann. Knowing her mother and father's murderer is still on the loose, not to mention looking for her, is no easy thing to cope with.

Lazily sitting on the couch not doing a single thing, was practically her new job. Tons of calls came from her job, eventually they told her she was fired. No one bothered to check on her. Not even her own uncle from Long Island.

Stan. He was an interesting man. Very quiet. He also wasn't very close to Katherine's parents. She just was expecting him to show up and at least give his condolences, but nothing. A no-show. With her mother dead, she had no one to talk too.

It was a stupid family feud that made them become distant. Katherine's uncle had blamed her parents for taking money from him. Her parents claimed they didn't and so, they have been fighting about it ever since.

Jackson rummaged through his desk looking at all of his past cases notes. Coming upon some notes he took for the murders of Melissa and John McCann, he realized what they had forgotten. Alexander Peterson.Crap! He thought. One person Katherine McCann said could potentially be a threat, and we didn't even follow up on him!
