Countryside, Illinois...
Ivy: A few hours had passed since Henry fainted. He was still pretty much asleep and his head kept spinning.
At least, me and Amy were able to stabilize him with some cold towels to kill off the fever and placed his body in bed, comforted by soft blankets.
"Emma, what brought Henry's memories up?" I asked the blonde, trying to come up with a theory.
"I've been thinking about his lack of belief and how it was preventing the curse from breaking. Now that he has me and you, he believes he's healed, so maybe that's what brought up some of his memories."
"Some?"
"Yeah, I don't know. This curse is more powerful than the others."
I couldn't stop shacking, because I knew what it meant if the curse was broken. Henry would remember the life he shared with Cinderella and his daughter. Still, I had hopes, now more than ever, that he would choose me, because what we shared was more real, more vivid than any legend or fairytale.
"You know it's the right thing to do, Ivy. He must remember everything, it must be his choice to be with you. I know he will." Amy explained, just as if she read my fearful thoughts.
"I believe it too, now more than ever. I just don't want him to think I was the one pushing him away from them."
"You weren't. You didn't cast the curse, plus when you fell in love you were both asleep."
"Did your father ever forgave Snow for Whale?" I teased, opening an old wound on Snow White's shame story.
"Ouch!" She said, bursting into laugh. "Ivy, wait a sec, I'll be right back." The blonde said, noticing Rogers on the other side of the door.
The blue eyed cop wanted to talk to his ex-wife and was far away from the context of our laughing and good vibes. Rogers had that deep frown of someone who's bothered by something serious.
"Hey, are you okay?" The savior asked him in a low tone.
"Yeah..." The detective's voice didn't seem to match the answer. "Look, we need to talk. I'm helping you with this because I know this...Henry guy is important to you, but you clearly seem like more than friends."
"He's my family, Rogers. It's a long story but he's innocent, same as Ivy, they are in a bad situation and I need to help them, I'm all they've got."
"Funny you didn't think that about me and Hope."
"Rogers..." The savior sighed, feeling the ache of her sin.
"No, it's okay, I know that your bartender fantasy was more important than us."
"You're being unfair. I tried to contact Hope every day for the last years, she doesn't want to hear it from me but I do love her."
"Yeah, and I'm just garbage, I picked up on that."
"No, stop it! Why are you always making this about yourself and our messy relationship. It's so infuriating!" Amy yelled and then looked back at me and Henry, with guilt covering her eyes, for she was afraid to destabilize us both. "Let's take this conversation outside." She asked the blue eyed-ex and they both left the room.
"I'll stop throwing this at you as soon as I understand what took you to let us go. We were happy and I went through it a million times and still can't understand why you left."
"I know you think this was about our relationship, but things aren't that simple. Being with you and Hope...you were the family I always wanted to have, but I felt like I lost myself with you, I became shallow and far from being the independent strong willed woman I was." Amy explained, paying homage to the person she was before the curse, as well. It seemed like the reasons to let Rogers go went back to the days before Seattle.
