CHAPTER FIFTEEN | MY POOR BUTT
"Good morning my female dogs."
The guys stared at me. Then, Jaxon swung his arm around my shoulder and grinned happily. "I taught you well."
Sadly, we're back to school. Nothing much has happened, except for the fact that Cayden still hasn't forgiven me yet. I know I made a huge mistake, and I overreacted, so I decided to give him space so he could think by himself. I'm also still confused about what West told me. On that day, I couldn't help but cry a little after I got into the room. They're hiding something from me, that I don't know. Could this possibly mean that they love me still?
"Hey let's get to class before we run late. Mr. Taylor already hates us all, so we better hurry," Ethan told us. We all nodded, before following him as he leads the way to our history class.
"Hey, do you guys want to hang out today? Maybe go to a restaurant other than Daily Grind," I asked the guys. Jaxon smirked, repeatedly nudging me in the ribs. I squeaked, jumping from the sudden touch.
"So... like a date?"
"No! I meant as in a hangout! Like, four friends, chilling. I'm not asking you guys on a date!" I told them, pouting slightly. The three of them laughed at my flustered expression.
"I was just playing with you Norah, no need to get flustered. Although, it's really adorable," Jaxon commented. I felt my cheeks burning, as I looked down, embarrassment immersing me.
We arrived in class, opening the door, we were surprisingly early, not many people were in it. Mr. Taylor glanced at us, gave us a tired smile and motioned for us to go sit down. "Good morning Mr. Taylor."
"Morning Norah, boys," he nodded with acknowledgment. We went over to our usual seats, the bell ringing after a minute, as class began and Mr. Taylor started class.
| THE END OF THE DAY |
"School was tiring," Carter yawned. We got into Ethan's car, as Carter sat in the passengers' seat, while both Jaxon and I were in the back.
"When isn't school tiring? It was also boring," I told him. The rest nodded.
"But don't even think about dropping out Mayfair! I never raised you like that," Jaxon told me, pointing his finger at me as if he was scolding me.
I rolled my eyes playfully, "You're right, you didn't raise me like that, mom."
Jaxon grinned at me happily. As we became silent, I looked out the window. I know I shouldn't think of this, and I have bigger things to worry about, but that day when we went to a party, and the way Jaxon behaved made me question if he has extreme mood swings. The way he said it, the way he looked at me with that unspeakable stare, and how close he got to me. Was he just joking? Did he want to intimidate me?
I looked at them sneakily. Both Carter and Jaxon were staring out of the window, while Ethan simply kept his eyes on the road. They have been the only people there for me, aside from Cayden, that I could trust. I know I could count on them, and I know they would never do anything to me that would make me uncomfortable or cry. Yes, Jaxon did surprise me with his sudden expression, but it didn't make me uncomfortable, I was just a bit confused.
