"I hope your sister is having fun."

Currently, Cayden and I are in his room, relaxing. He was on his computer, reading a book called 'Stepbrothers Don't Love,' while I was on his bed scrolling through my phone. Recently, I've become remarkably close to all the Carries, especially Cayden. I was able to finally live my life normally like a careless teenager, go to school without any worries and walk around a house without being terrified that I'd get beaten. It's as if the Carries loved me more than my own brothers, and, it hurts thinking about it. They've always had a pleasure beating me, and, I never knew why. It is perhaps because they thought I was vulnerable, and wanted to see me in pain? All those thoughts washed away for the past few days, but of course, they're always in the back of my mind.

"Honestly," Cayden sighed, turning around in his desk chairs, "I'm sure she is. I trust those boys, you should meet them. They're really respectable, and I think they can make good boyfriends. I just hope they treat her fairly and wouldn't do something she wouldn't want to. Plus, they're naturally good looking."

"You know Cayden, you're a really good brother. You accepted the boys right away, usually, older brothers get very protective over their sister, maybe even forbid them from hanging out with boys. But you, you're different. It's nice to see someone really accepting," I told him, a smile spreading across my face.

He shrugged, "People accepted me for who I am, more specifically, my family accepted me for who I am. That's why I'm paying them back, I'll accept Norah for whatever decision she makes. Not only Norah but all my brothers."

After a few minutes of silence, Cayden spoke up again, "You know, sometimes it just slips my mind that there are cameras everywhere in this house, even in the bathrooms. Your brothers are probably watching us right now, and if they are," he paused and looked around the room and smiled before flashing his middle finger, showing it off everywhere, "then fuck you!"

I laughed, rolling my eyes playfully. "You don't even wanna know how many times I've said that and got hit for it. It was worth it though."

Cayden frowned, his eyes flashing with something, his expression changing faster than ever. "Ashton, I know those memories are always going to be in your head, but you're safe with us so you don't have to worry about those assholes. They'll never know how good of a person you are because you're just so precious and kind. All five of them are clearly blind."

I looked down, trying to hide my smile. It was nice getting complimented by someone, it felt good, and it appeared like I was actually worth it in the world. It doesn't matter if it was one person or ten people, it made me feel nice.

"Thanks, Cayden, it means a lot," I smiled once more. "You know, for the past couple of days, I've was able to feel happy because of you and your brothers. You don't realize how amazing it feels when people care about me."

"You're adorable," Cayden blurted, although he wasn't embarrassed about it, he stayed there without an expression. However, I was completely flustered, I could feel myself getting hot and the blood rushing to my cheeks. "I meant to say that aloud because I mean it," he turned, and the sighed. "I'm reading this book online, called Stepbrother Fake Love, and I don't know why but I think I'm in love with the author."
