10.
I stayed in my dorm for several hours. I actually fell asleep. I was exhausted and I didn’t know why. I groaned as I rolled out of bed. My stomach started to rumble. I hadn’t eaten breakfast and it was already 1pm. I brushed my hair and headed to the school’s cafeteria. Lucky they were open on the weekends. I got a plate lunch and sat under the big oak tree. No one was there. The school was dead. It usually was during the weekends. I saw a few students walk pass.
I ate my teriyaki chicken, staring at the grass as I ate. I was deep in thought. I felt so bad for not going to Sebastian’s for breakfast. He probably cooked a lot. What if he thought I was lying? That’d be horrible. I sighed. In a way, I didn’t want to be too attached to him. It would be hard to detach myself if we didn’t last long. How does one know how long they’re gonna be in a relationship? It was so unpredictable. It could be going fine and then out of nowhere it could be over. Love was so distressing at times. But I wasn’t in love. I don’t think so yet. It’s more of a like a lot kind of relationship. It seems like Sebastian cares about me a lot. Did I feel the same or was this going too fast. Why was I even questioning this? This is what I wanted right? To be with the man, and that’s what I got. I was happy with him. Was that love? I didn’t have a clue. It never happened to me. I sighed.
“Hey, you alright?” I was startled. I looked up and saw Blake. He was smiling. “Yea I am.” I said. “oh okay. May I join you?” he asked. I nodded. He sat next to me. Should I tell him I wanted to be friends? It would make things easier. I looked at him. “Blake. We should talk.” I said. “Oh that always means something bad.” He said. Great. “Well not bad. Just that. I don’t think we should date anymore. You’re a great guy. I’d love to have you in my life still.” I said as gently as possible. “Ouch. Is it cause of the teacher?” he said. Great so he noticed. “What teacher?” I said blankly. “Oh don’t play dumb. Mr. Sinclare.” He said. He wasn’t angry. “Yea a little. I like him a lot. I’m sorry.” I said. “It’s okay I understand. I’m just a little bummed. I liked you a lot too.” He said. Ouch, that one hurt as well. “I’m so sorry.” I said. He took my hand. “It’s okay. But if you ever change your mind, I’m here for you. And I’d love to be your friend. I’d loved it more if there was a boy in front of the friend but I’ll live.” He smiled half heartedly. “Thank you for understanding.” I said. He gave me a hug. “No worries. I’ll be fine.” He said and let go of me. I was glad to have that off my chest.
“Well I should go. I’m gonna go Borders. You can come if you want to.” He said. He started to get up. I nodded. He helped me up. I grabbed my things. “Could I ride with you?” I said. I didn’t want to drive. “Sure, why not.” He said. I followed him to his car. We reached the student parking lot. He led me to a black car with dark tinted windows. So he was following me. “Were you following me this morning?” I said bluntly. “well. Yea. I just wanted to see if you were lying to me. But sorry if I freaked you.” He chuckled. “You did freak me a little. You’re crazy.” I laughed.
I got in the car with him and he drove us to Borders. Was it crazy weird that Blake actually followed me? It was very crazy weird. We arrived at Borders. We got out of the car and I went to the Adult section. I didn’t know what book I wanted to get. I don’t know where Blake went because I was lost in the sea of books. I looked at several titles but none caught my eye. I sighed and went to the YA section. They had good books. I scanned the section and was dumb founded. Mr. Sinclare was standing in the middle of the YA section. I smiled. What was he doing here? I walk behind him.
“Excuse me sir, we’ll have to ask you to leave.” I disguised my voice. He turned instantly and smiled as he saw me. “Oh and for what reason?” he said. “For stalking me.” I said. “I did not do such a thing. I didn’t even know you were here.” He said. “I know cause I didn’t take my car. I came with Blake.” I said. “oh I see. Any stalkers following you today?” he asked. “No I stayed in my dorm and slept. I got lunch and ran into Blake. What are you doing here?” I asked. “Oh I see. I’m getting a few books. I finished the Historian.” He said. That was quick. “Wow you read fast.” I said. I read fast but it took me three days to read the book. “Yea. It was good.” He said. “that’s good. I guess I’ll see you later for piano rehearsals.” I smiled. He just smiled and nodded. I began to scan the isles for books. I found a few books and went up to pay. Where the heck was Blake. I looked around the store. He wasn’t there. Did he ditch me? I sighed. I finally found him. He was sitting on the floor reading a magazine.
