I woke up to a sunny Saturday morning. I woke up smiling. I couldn’t believe that last night happened. It was so unreal, but it was. I rolled out of bed and took a shower. They say that if you smile once you wake up; you’re guaranteed to be happy the rest of the day. I couldn’t stop smiling. I tried to but I couldn’t. I got dressed in a pair of black shorts and red t-shirt. I walked to Starbucks. I ordered my coffee and walked to the big oak tree. There was a dark figure sitting under the tree. I knew that figure anywhere, it was Mr. Sinclare. I smiled widely. I silently walked over to him and sat next to him. He looked up and smiled at me.
“Good Morning Mr. Sinclare” I said. He had a book in his hands. “Why good morning to you Ms. Dawson.” He said. I looked at him. His hair was out of place from running his hand through it. He looked younger like that. “What are you reading?” I asked. He closed the book and showed me the cover it said The Historian. “Oh interesting book. I’ve read it last summer.” I said. The beginning was a little slow but it was a good book. “Really? The beginning was a little boring.” He said. “Yea but it gets good in the end.” I smiled. “Hey don’t tell me how it ends.” He said. I laughed. “so what are you up to today?” he asked me. I thought about it. I finished my homework. “I’m not sure. I finished my homework. Nothing I guess.” I said. “Oh you want to-“ he got cut off by a familiar voice. “Hey Jayla” I looked up to see Blake. Oh crap. I smiled. “Hey Blake. You remember Mr. Sinclare.” I said. I noticed he didn’t acknowledge Sebastian. He looked at Sebastian and nodded. Mr. Sinclare did the same. There was awkward air again. I sighed. “So what are you doing Blake? I thought you don’t wonder the campus.” I said. His black hair was ruffled. “I don’t, I saw you under the tree and wanted to ask if you wanted to go out and get something to eat, if you’re not busy.” He said and looked at Mr. Sinclare who was obviously fake reading. Great what was I gonna do? I just stared. “Uhm I can’t today. I have a midterm to study for. Rain check? I’m actually leaving right now. Thanks though.” I said. Blake looked like he didn’t believe me. “next time I guess.” He said. Glaring at Sebastian, who was pretending to not listen. I could so tell. “Yea next time.” I said and smiled. I started to get up when Blake reached out his hand. I took it as he pulled me up. “Thank you Mr. Sinclare. See you for our piano lessons.” I said. He nonchalantly looked up from his book and said “Sure thing Ms. Dawason.”. I smiled at him. He didn’t smile but his eyes did. Then Blake walked me back to my dorm. Great I was stuck in my dorm for now. I was certain Sebastian was going to ask me on an actual date. I groaned. What was I gonna do about Blake? I sat in bed and contemplated.
Could I be just Blake’s friend and tell him I couldn’t date him. He would be suspicious. But maybe I could tell him I was interested in Sebastian. Blake was a great guy and I didn’t want to lose him as a friend. Maybe I should tell him. A knock on my door broke my thoughts. Who could that be? Nobody visited me. I walked to the door and unbolted it. I smiled.
“Hey you. How’d you know where my dorm was?” I said. “You told me rememeber.” Sebastian said. He was wearing black pants and a white shirt. I didn’t recall telling him. I let it go. “What are you doing here?” I smiled. He walked in and was inches away from me. He pulled me to him by the waist and had his face inches from me. He was deviously smiling at me. I was still in shock to process what was happening. He still had his devious smile on. I smiled widely. “Why I came to see my girl.” He said and lowered his head. “oh, your girl?” I said jokingly. He scowled at me. “Yes, my girl.” He said. He moved in closer and planted a soft kiss on my lips. Then I heard the door shut. He must’ve kicked it closed. He kept kissing me softly. I smiled. I pulled away. “As fun as this is, I’m hungry.” I smiled sheepishly. He just chuckled. “Okay, what do you want to eat?”he said still holding me around the waist. “uhm. Mexican food!” I said. I was craving a quesadilla. He laughed. “Okay lets go, I know a great Mexican joint.” He gave me one last kiss and let go. We walked out of my dorm. I turned my head and could have sworn I saw a dark figure around the corner. I let it go and continued to walk down the hall with Sebastian.
