Chapter twenty two

They got out to the street and looked around seeing chaos ''Find an open car.'' John said as they headed down the street, they rushed down the street pushing past people ''We're just gonna steal someone's car?'' Jean questioned running along with them ''Got a better idea about getting out of here fast?'' John asked turning back to him, bumping into a guy, he looked down seeing he dropped his keys. John grabbed them and aimed them out clicking the unlock button over and over again, then they herd it, they turned around looking into a parking garage.

They ran inside and looked around ''Click it again.'' Ash said looking around so John did and they herd it one level up so they ran. They stopped as soon as a door flew open and two people ran out, they herd a growl from inside followed by screaming, they ran up the incline and looked around, John clicked it once more and they saw it running over, they opened the door's getting inside putting their thing's in the truck, John locked it once everyone was in and they all buckled up, John started the car and backed them out turning it and driving down the way they came, Carson and Ash turned around looking back seeing the dead burst through that door ''It's the running ones.'' John got them out of the parking garage.

He turned onto the road and headed through the other car's moving around police car's and ambulances as they drove through ''Someone better get a map out because I have no idea where I'm going.'' Monte opened the glove compartment and started digging while the three in the back looked around, Jean smiled and pulled a map out opening it ''Got it.'' he said reading fast ''It's to the city.'' John turned fast onto another street right before a bus crashed into them, Carson looked back seeing the bus hit an ambulance ''Head straight till you get to the first casino on this street then turn left.'' John looked for the casino keeping his eye's on the road at the same time ''Then?'' Jean read the map some more ''Then turn right at the end of that street, you'll stay on that street and you should see sign's to the highway.'' Monte shut the radio off which was blaring music at them.

John stayed on the road seeing the casino and turned left as soon as they got closer onto the next street and turned faster as a car came speeding towards them moving out of the way as well, they got straight again and Ash looked at the people running around seeing the dead were very fast out here ''Why are they faster then the one's we've seen?" he questioned, Monte and Carson had a look at them while they passed by them ''Not sure.'' Monte said and turned front, John slammed the break's on as a woman and her kid were passing by, his heart was racing, as soon as they got across John started driving again.

At the end of that road he turned right and stayed on that road but saw the highway from where they were seeing that it was a long line up of car's ''Hang on.'' he said once there was a clearing beside them and turned off the road driving threw the small bit's of grass driving along side the highway before they got ahead of the traffic jam just before they drove into some tree's, getting back on the road it let them all breath. Monte relaxed sliding into his seat putting his head back ''Remind me why we stopped?'' John smiled and looked at the road rubbing his eye's and looked at the road ''You should let me drive.'' Ash said leaning forward ''Aren't you tired too?'' he asked looking in the rear view mirror, Ash shook his head so John sighed and pulled over, him and Ash switched places and Ash started driving while John buckled up and put his head back.
