Things weren't going as planned. Well...at least if he HAD a plan this certainly wasn't turning out like it, whatever it might have been it wouldn't have been this shitty. The rain had stopped yesterday evening and although there weren't many clouds, the ground was still muddy and the air smelled damp as the earth usually does after a fresh rainfall. It seemed news of his disappearance had spread like a California wildfire, missing persons posters were stapled to the bulletin boards of small local shops. He caught a few glimpses of his face on the news chanel in a few of the more iconic stores, it was like the world had nothing better to focus on than the disappearance of a small town boy who just wanted to be left alone. Why was that so hard to ask? Didn't these people have jobs or some Hollywood gossip to worry about?
It was pissing him off, all the questioning glances he recieved from passerbys as they racked their brains to remember where they had seen his face before. The pitiful looks he recieved from the local homeless crowd as he could almost hear them wonder; How had a young boy such as himself ended up on the streets? Had life where he come from been so bad that it caused him to flee? Was he on the run? He tried not to let this get to him, their opinions of him didn't matter, they weren't of any importance to him anyways. They were simply people. People who had more important things to worry about than some runaway teen and his whearabouts.
In all honesty this whole running away thing was starting to irritate Antonio, he didn't know where to go. Maybe that was the point, to end up somewhere with thoughts of going nowhere. The idea of a fresh start thrilled him but there was one burning question that kept nagging at him.
Does he miss me?
It was a stupid question but he couldn't stop thinking about it, he longed to call him. To even see a glimpse of his beloved would be more than enough. His heart ached and pleaded for him to go home but he couldn't go back, not now. Even being ignored by Romano had been better than this. At least then he could still see him during class or on the way home. With a sigh he looked up at the sky, it was getting dark and the city was a dangerous place at night. Oh what he would do right now for a decent bed to sleep in for the night. There were so many things he'd realized he'd taken for granted but still, he didn't look back. Not even when he thought he had head the distant calling of his name from far behind him.
"Watch where you're walking damn it!" a husky voice growled. Antonio flinched, he'd been so lost in his thoughts that the sun had seemed to run away when he hadn't been paying attention. It was cold...so, so cold.
