Chapter 14: Getting along

Today, Xu Ming was the one to pick Xu Mei from her school. After having come in close contact with her for a period of time, he was no longer looking stiff when he carried her in his arms.

‘’Mommy, can we take pictures together?’’

Xu Mei cautiously asked since she has never taken one with her mother before so she wanted to have pictures with her whole family in them!

To her surprise, just after her question fell, her mother answered right away,’’Mm.’’

Xu Ming said without thinking much since it was not beyond his capability. However, he didn’t know that his casual reply made Xu Mei so happy that she laughed foolishly finally acting like her age.

‘’Yay! I will ask Daddy to take pictures with us too!’’

After saying this, she acted like what she did with Xu Qin and gave a peck on Xu Ming’s cheek.

Xu Ming abruptly paused in his tracks due to her action. He turned to look at her who was still beaming at him. Seeing her look like this, he decided not to say anything and resumed his walk.

Upon entering, he suddenly saw a familiar person who was conversing with Xu Chen in the living room.

What is that doctor doing here?

Doctor Lu knew that his patient finally arrived so he stood up to greet her.

‘’Good evening, Ms. Xu. How have you been doing?’’

Xu Ming faintly replied,’’Fine.’’

Doctor Lu gently smiled then said,’’I’m here to check on you to see whether there are any side effects or not.’’

Hearing this, Xu Mei worriedly looked at her mother,’’Are you sick?’’

Xu Ming shook his head,’’No.’’

‘’So why is uncle Lu here?’’

‘’It is his job to look for patients to treat them so that he could make a living.’’

Doctor Lu,’’……’’I felt like that sentence is somehow wrong!

After letting Xu Chen looked after the little girl, Xu Ming followed the doctor into an empty room.

He casually sat down, crossed his legs, slightly leaned back then lazily supported his cheek with his left arm which braced against the sofa’s armrest.

He indifferently spoke,’’Speak.’’

Doctor Lu has been observing his patient from the beginning so he carefully noted down his behavior and finally believed that Xu Qin was telling the truth.

She was not ladylike at all and her actions didn’t look forced or unnatural either.

He took a big deep breath then gave an amiable smile,’’I heard that you want to become a man?’’

Xu Ming lazily raised his brows then honestly admitted it,’’Mm.’’

‘’Do you have dull headaches during this half a month?’’

‘’No.’’

‘’Do you experience sleeplessness?’’

‘’No.’’

Doctor Lu continued to ask him more questions to which it was just like their first conversation at the hospital, all he got were Nos.

Midway through their talk, the door suddenly opened as Xu Qin silently stepped in. Doctor Lu was about stood up but the other party gestured for him sit back and continued with the session.
