I closed my eyes as I stood on top of the building, the wind whipping through my hair. A wave of peace washed over me and I sighed. The peacefulness quickly vanised when I heard footsteps coming from behind me. My whole my tensed, and my eyes flicked open. A loud bang sounded, and before I realized it, my feet were moving quickly over the cement. I neared the edge of the building, and I braced myself as I leaped off the building. I snapped my beautiful white wings open, and I glided smoothly into the cloudless sky, beating my wings hard against the cool crisp air. My heart raced with fear as another shot rang out behind me. I heard a light whisting sound, and a bullet wizzed right past my ear. My whole body shuddered, as I tried swallowing my fear. I beat my wings harder, and faster trying to flee from my attackers. A few more seconds, then I'm free. I thought encourgingly to myself, but before I knew it, I felt a sharp pain vibrate through my wing. My breath caught in my throat as I started falling towards the earth. No No No I whimpered in my mind. I beat my wings, but it was no use. I closed my eyes as I sped towards the earth.
