Chapter Five

20 2 4

I flew for almost 6 hours straight, with no destination in my mind. I was just flying in a straight line. Sometimes flying with the hawks or maybe even with the geese. but of course being human(maybe...well half human anyways) I got tired, so I scoured the area for a place to rest my sleepy wings. As my raptor vision scoured the area; I saw a family of four leaving a nice looking house, and it looked like going away for while considering their suitcase size.

A small but sincere smile crept onto my face, and beating my wings I flew down to the house. I reached into my pocket(I find it quite big considering it's a girl's pocket) and pulled out my lock pick case. My feet touched the ground, slowing the a stop. I creeped out onto the open ground and raced for the door. I looked at my multiple locks, and then at the door lock. I pulled out the ones I would need and started picking at the lock. I fiddled around with the locks, hearing a click I smiled and pushed open the door. A blast of heat hit my face as I entered the house. I sighed with contentment and studied the house I choose. Suddenly I heard the door lock click, and the door swung open before I could get to saftey. I closed my eyes and silently cursed at myself for being so careless.

"And who are you?" A voice said from behind me, curiousity alight in his voice. I peaked my eyes open and spun around and looked at the young-ish boy(around my age maybe?) He was a pretty decently tall boy, and his long-ish brown hair covered his eyes just barely due to the fact it waved up at the ends. What caught my attention were his eyes, they were an eletretic emerald green, I think I also failed to mention that they were also checking me out too.

"Hello." I smirked, trying to act confident considering my heart was about to leap out of my chest. The boy smirked back, seeing my confidence and he turned around. My heart raced with fear as he called out to his parents.

"I just realized I forgot something, I'll just be a second." He called. He turned back around and locked eyes with me. "So what is a teenage girl standing in the middle of my foyer," he started then looked at the timepiece on his wrist "In the middle of schoolday."

"What are you doing standing in the middle of your foyer in the middle of a schoolday." I shot back at him, still smirking. Emphasizing the you in the sentence. He smirked and took a step closer,

"I see what'cha doing." He let out a small chuckle, and walked even closer to me until we were so close I could feel his breath on my lips. I lifted my eyes until we locked eyes and my eyes flickered around searching his eyes.

"You are standing to close for my comfort." I whispered, then moved my eyes suddenly concious of how just close we were standing. I heard him let out a small chuckle, and he took a step back. "And I don't think it wouldn't even be approiate if I don't even know your name know your name." I mused. The boy chuckled,

"Name's Kole." He replied.

"With a "C" or a "K"." I asked him.

"Kole with a K." He smirked. Then both our ears perked up as we heard an older lady's voice call out his name. He started to turn, but spun back quickly "I think it's only fair that I know the name and the girl that's going to be sleeping in my house." He shot back at me with laughter in his eyes, and a smirk on his lips.

My eyes flashed with amusement "Destiny's the name."

"Destiny..." He murmured "I like it." He flashed a querky smile towards me, and turned around, as he was walking out he called over his shoulder "Turn right and down the hall on the left" and with that the door slammed shut. I peered out the window, and felt an unexpected feeling of disappointment as the car pulled out the drive. I took a deep breath, and turned away from the window. I started wandering around the house, then subconciously started toward the right and found what Kole told me to find. I pushed lightly at the door and walked into the room. A grin lept to my face as I realized what he pointed me to. I let out a chuckle as my eyes wandered around the room. His bed, stood on one of the walls and a spinny chair stood underneath it. Did I forget to mention it was a loft bed? I think i did, anyways there was a window right next to the bed, underneath was a dresser. Along the wall adjacent to it was a closet, then along the other wall a long desk running across the wall with various tools and projects sitting a top. My feet walked over to his bed and climbed up the ladder. Oooh this is a comfy bed I thought to myself as I bounced slightly. I lept off the bed and scuttled out of his room to check out the rest of the house.

I then found myself in the living, and I saw a photo album sitting on one of the shelfs. A small chuckle escaped my lips, walking over to the album. I pulled it off the shelf and plopped down onto the couch. I opened up the book, flipping to the very first page of photos. The first few pictures were of his parents on their wedding day, then it skipped a few years and there was the very first baby photos of Kole. Laughter kept erupting from my soul as I flipped through the photos. I flipped through the photos until one near the end caught my attention. It was him with another very beautiful girl, kissing her on the cheek. My heart dropped to my stomach stone cold, blood roaring in my ears as I looked at the date. 9/27/1It said. I slammed the book shut, feeling my despair but having no clue why I felt like that.

You like him. A small voice murmured inside my head. I swallowed, shaking my head wanting to get rid of the feeling. I stood up abrutly and slamming the book down onto the coffee table next to the couch with a loud bang. I stalked over to the kitchen wanting to see what food they have left behind.  I pulled open the fridge with force, and my dagger eyes searched the fridge for edible food. I saw a box of leftover Fazzoli's, I sighed as I pulled it out of the 'fridge. I plopped it down on a plate and heated it up for a minute then pulled it out of the mircowave. Once I gathered everything, I sat down on one of the stools and ate my food in silence.
