It's Thursday

CAROLINE'S POV
  Another week has gone by fast, luckily school's been keeping me pretty busy with all extra homework and studying for the upcoming exams before summer begins, I roll on my stomach and think back to what happened with Klaus last weekend

things between us have been awkward to say the least, he only picked up Bekah on Tuesday, when he  did he didn't get out the car, look in my direction or even try to talk to me,  he was a no show Monday and yesterday, but luckily Rebekah is very understanding about whatever is going on with me and her brother, glad I didn't lose her as a friend

I finally get out of bed to get ready for school, once I'm done I head down stairs to grab something before I head out

I see my mom by the door but as I was about to say good morning I seen her suitcase by the door "mom?" She turned around and looked at me, I'm guessing I had abandonment written across my face cause she told me "oh no sweetie I'm not leaving you, well I am but it's for work, I'm coming back" "where are you going?"

"Since I'm the sheriff in this town I'm needed in a few towns east, they got a lot of murders on there hands in just a few days they wanna catch who evers doing it before they decided to make there way down here or any where else" "why do they need you? There plenty of other sheriff's" "cause I'm the only sheriff who has the best track record, that and the town's desperate and in need of help and you know me" she said with a smile

"how long will you be gone for?" "I'll be back Monday, hopefully" she paused then added "Don't forget, tomorrow's a holiday and so is Monday, you have a four day weekend, so you don't end up waking up and getting ready for school" I totally forgot about about this weekend, I laugh at myself alil for forgetting and reply "thanks mom, it's ok if you're back a bit late, just as long as you come back"

she gives me a hug " I'm leaving now because it's a long drive and instead of driving tomorrow and being tired when I arrive I rather just leave today" "I understand, drive safe" "you know I do, I left well enough money for food or whatever else you'll need and if you want you can have Rebekah spend the nights with you, so your not alone here but no boys"

"I know and I'll ask her when I see her today" "ok see you later sweetie I love you" "love you to mom" she gave me a kiss on the head then let me go as she grabed her suitcase and opened the door "oh and Caroline please stay away and out of the woods, we still haven't caught the animal that attacked the runners, also don't go out at night be inside before Sunset"

"Sunset? Mom I knew I was a princess but at least Cinderella got until midnight" "Caroline.." "I know mom I'm just kidding" I tell her with a smile "ok just text me once in a while so I know your ok" "I will mom" "bye sweetie" "bye mom" she shut the door and I headed in the kitchen, as I was popping my begal in the toaster I heard the door open up, she probably forgot her car keys again I smile to myself "forget ur keys mother?" I said out loud "You'll think I would remember something like this since I'm the sheriff and I'm driving the sheriffs car"

I started laughing "ok I'm really gone this time I'll text you when I get there" she shouted while heading to the door "ok" I shouted back, I heard her open the door and close
