Loosing My Cool

ELIJAH'S POV

I knew my brother was close to strangling Damon so I had to step in, I also know he would rather be here then me but the look he gave me knew he trusted me to keep her safe and that I will do at any cost.

I hear Damon stopped a few meters ahead so I stop a few feet away from him and place Caroline down "are you ok?" "yes, thanks, also thanks for asking before you just whooshed us off" I gave a small smile before replying "your welcome" we hear Damon groan "hurry up already while I'm still young" she rolled her eyes with a annoyed look on her face "where is this 'way' at?" she asked as she walked alil closer 

he threw his thumb over his should "follow me" we walked to a small cave opening and walked inside, it was dark with a lil bit of light shinning in, the girls took out there phones and turned on there lights, after a few moments of walking  "its cold in here" Elena said wrapping her arms around her, I look to Caroline who to is rubbing her arms a bit "quite your whining, were almost there, Suits why don't you give me a hand" 

I left Caroline's side to go see what he wanted,  there was a boulder in the way, once we moved it I seen the small opening the girls would have to squeeze thru, we heard a crack sound and the floor gave out, we grabbed the boulder so it wouldn't move and cause more of the ground to give out but we heard the girls scream

I looked to see Caroline grabbing Elena in time before she fell but the floor they were on gave out as well Damon went to grab them but ended up only garbing Elena falling back then getting up to see  Caroline  out of his reach, I sprung into action and grabbed Caroline before shes got sucked down more

 once we were on stable I looked her over "are you alright?" "ya, just a bit shaking up but alright, thank you" she said getting a grip on herself

I spun around to Damon  "why didn't you grab her as well?" I said in a furious tone, he scoffed then replied "I tried to.." I cut him off "no you did not, how is it that Caroline was closer and yet you managed to grab Elena?" "I went to reach back for Blondie but she.."  I grabbed him my the throat and hosted him up, getting irritated by the nonchalant tone of his voice "you mean to say your priorities come first and to hell with the rest " 

Elena was begging me to put him down but it was Caroline's words that I listened to "Elijah, hes not worth it" so I let him go and he fell on his ass,  I fixed my suit as I said "your right" then turned to look at her while holding out my hand "were done here, lets go"

"what!?" Damon said getting up rubbing his throat still, I turned to him once more "were done here, you and Ms.Gilbert  can carry on alone" "this might be the way and your turning around, your gonna make Elena go alone Blondie?" he looked to me then Caroline "Lena this doesn't feel right, I don't think this is the way" Caroline pleaded

Damon scoffed "I knew you were weak" "its not called being weak, its called knowing when to quite before you get your self killed" Caroline yelled at him, just then we heard a rumble to where the girls were supposed to go thru and then the whole cave started to gave way I grabbed Caroline and flashed out of there, once out of the cave I stopped and notice they haven't came out yet "go help them please" she said to me "stay here" I ordered and she shook her head as I flashed away  

I seen Damon knocked out on the floor with his leg under a rock and Elena trying to help move it, a piece of rock came falling down from the ceiling and was about to hit her, I hit it out of the way just in time and told her to  "step aside" she did so without answering me and I moved the rock with ease then grabbed them both

once out side I dumped Damon on the floor and put Elena down more gently, she had been hit in the head cause blood was flowing down her head a bit "oh my gosh, Elena" Caroline came over and started to examine  her head, she was trying to rip a bit of her shirt so I handed her my handkerchief  "thanks" she said and started to clean her up and hold it on it 

Niklaus is not gonna be pleased that she was put in danger, I looked down to Damon's body, I lightly kicked him to try and wake him up, Damon was a real problem when it comes to the lives of others, I fear if not one of us would of came along Caroline would of been died 

just then the whole cave opening collapsed, Caroline came over to me "glad you came along" she said as she was eyeing the cave, she then looked down to Damon and also kicked him lightly "Hey time to get up" "Care stop hes hurt" Elena said while holding her head "relax Elena hes a vampire he'll recover"  she grumbled nudging him again with her foot

he started to stir on the floor "see" she added backing away from him and standing behind me 

he groans sitting up "well that wasn't fun" he seen Elena then tried to rush to her but  fell back down and grabbed his leg "son of a bitch!" "your leg was crushed by a fallen boulder" I stated smiling down at him "why didn't you say that before I tired to stand up?" he said glaring at me 

"must of slipped my mind at the moment" I looked to Caroline who was hiding a smiled behind her hand "since were all her now, we should get back to the others and tell them this was a waste of time" she nodded her head at me "are you almost done healing?" I continued looking back at Damon  "ya ya just give me a min" "right then, Caroline" I say once more holding my hand out, she takes it and we speed off once Damon was on his feet walking towards Elena

we flashed back to everyone and Bonnie's the first one to speak "omg Care" she says rushing to her friends side with Matt in tow, they see Caroline with bloody hands and some on her shirt "guys don't worry its not mine" "who's is it then?" Matt asked as he was cleaning her hands "Elena, she got hit in her head pretty bad" 

Damon and Elena finally showed up, Stefan ran to there sides, once everyone was cleaned up and treated Kol asked "so what happened?" I made eye contact with Niklaus pleading with him to remain calm, he looked angry but gave a short nod 

I went on to explain what happened and it was Tyler who spoke up mad first "you would of let her fall to her death!?" Hayley was holding him in place as best as she could, "I was trying to grab them both!" Damon argued back throwing his empty blood bag down "seriously Damon your despicable" Bonnie spat out "you should of left him in the cave brother" Kol said with Rebekah nodding her head agreeing with him

"Damon we are all here together and we are all leaving here together, we look out for each other, I don't care if you don't like everyone here, so take your ass back to the boat and wait for us to come back, we don't need you on this trip if your not gonna be a team player" Stefan spat at his brother 

to which Damon stood quite before turning to Caroline saying "sorry I didn't get to you in time Blondie" I knew he didn't fully mean it and so did she cause all she did was nod her head and look away 

"lets try and walk some more before we make camp" Stefan said, everyone then started to gather their things, I went next to Niklaus and we whispered "I'm sorry Caroline was.." "no, you need to be sorry, you helped bring her back up harmed, shes a bit shaken up but she is a strong, she will get past this" he then put a hand on my should and said "thank you for looking out for her brother" then walked away to check on her
