Just A Friend

KLAUS'S POV
Caroline is looking at me with wide eye's "Klaus" she whispers, I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing her say my name  "Caroline" she gets up from where she was sitting "what are you doing here?"

She says nervously looking around, I chuckle to myself "don't worry love, your safe alone with me, I didn't come to fight" but if u were anyone else who standing here with me alone in the woods their life would be looking pretty short "again why say that to me?" I give her the same look I gave to her earlier and she just rolls her eyes at me "are you sure you can't read minds?"

"Yes love I'm sure" I tell her chucking some more and I take a step closer to her and she takes one to me

"so.." she says "so?" I tell her back, were arms length and I'm looking at her and I wish I really could read minds because I'm curious as to what she is thinking, she's just looking at me with her beautiful blue eyes

"Tyler should be coming back.." she takes a step back from me "I ran into Tyler while I was heading over here" she looked worried for a moment but before she could jump to conclusions I told her "he said he'll give us a moment and he'll be by one of the fires"

which wasn't a lie, I did catch up to him and maybe compelled him to not bother us but she doesn't need to know that

"oh ok" she says "I promise I didn't lay a finger on him" I tell her smiling and she gives a small one back "Klaus, about earlier I'm sorry I left, I mean u were kinda right in the end"

I smile at her words "Caroline love look I'm not upset that you left me at the restaurant, well I am upset that you left me but we had a little spat I'm over it" I tell her and she smiles back "good" she says then adds "friends still then?"

"Of course love, I mean I told you a small town boy was never gonna be enough for you" "Are you serious?"

CAROLINE'S POV
He was just standing there looking at me with a confused expression on his face "what?" "I said are you serious?"

"Serious about what?" I sigh heavily "you keep talking bad bout my friend and I already told you that I don't like it" I practically hiss at him "love did you just tell me I was right? So why are you getting upset?" Ugh doesn't he know I mean about not waiting to stay in this town forever,

I wanna go and see what else is out there but all he cares is about who I spend my life with, Tyler is and will always be my friend we known each other our whole life's and Klaus just doesn't see it and I'm starting to think he never will,

from what his sister says about him I'll be his new shiny toy for a few days then get tossed aside for a new one, I want love and to one day have a family I want the whole house with the white Pickett fence the golden retriever dog the husband who loves and adores you but I can't see that with Klaus...

all he wants is a distraction for now until the next best thing comes along and I am not gonna be his Barbie until then, Klaus could never be more then just a friend to me, he's my friends older brother we cant be more then just friends

"you know what this isn't going to work" I start to walk past him and he takes a step in my way "I don't understand? What's not going to work?" He tells me angry "this" I tell him using my finger to point at me then him "why not?"

He says there gritted teeth "because you are so self centered, now get out of my way" "NO" we stare each other down neither one wanting to cave in but this was ridiculous "move Klaus" "for the last time NO Caroline"

"what's your problem?" "YOU! YOUR MY PROBLEM CAROLINE!" "If I'm such a problem leave me the Fuck alone then" I walked past him but he grabbed my arm and spun me around to look at him

KLAUS'S POV
"Don't walk away from me when I'm not finish talking to you" I hissed at her "well I'm done talking to you!!" She yelled trying to jerk her arm from me I didn't realize I held a strong grip on her until she said

"Klaus please" I instantly let go, shame washing over me that I hurt her "I'm sorry" I whisper to her I see she's rubbing her arm "it's ok" she whispers back "Its fine, I know you didn't mean to and I take it your not use to women saying no to you?" She said trying to make a light joke of it

"No, women for some reason can't get enough of me even when I have had enough of them" we remain silent but after a moment more she speaks up "Klaus  you seem like a nice guy... Most of the time and all but this isn't gonna work out, I'm friends with your sister and she told me about all the previous girls you umm been with"

I growl "Rebekah" then went on to say "are you really gonna listen to her?" "Are you telling me she's lying?" I open my mouth to say something but then close it up cause I know she's right "exactly Klaus,

I don't know bout you but I'm looking for someone who gonna be with me for the long run, not for a mile"

this makes me feel upset, of course I just want to have her for the time being just until my doppelganger gets back them once I brake this cures, I'll leave this dead place and I'll be back to rule over my kingdom,

but in the mean time I could show her what else is out there I can give her things no one else can but she's to caught up in what ever life that worthless boy has put in her head "I can give you more then what Tyler could ever give you" I practically growled at her and she shook her head

"you see you will never understand" "understand what? That boy won't be able to give you the finer things in life and don't tell me you don't want that because I seen how your face lit up on our day out today you enjoyed every second of it and Tyler will never be able to show you or give you things that I can"

"it's not about money Klaus!" She yelled at me "then what is it? Because you seemed pretty happy about it today am I right love?" "You are the opposite of Tyler" "what good looking, smart, traveled the world or its it because I'm richer then him? Hmm love which is it?"

"Tyler could give me something you can't!" She's very angry at this point but she's so stubborn she can't see I can give her the world for the time being but all she cares about is that stupid boy "tell me what can he give you?" I started to raise my voice at her

"Because I certainly know it's not trips to different places,  buying you lavish gifts like the bracelet you thru back at me or maybe it's not being able to buy out an entire restaurant for the evening? Tell me Caroline what cant he give you that I can't!?"

Slap ...I feel a little sting in my left cheek on my face it takes me 3 seconds to process what had just happened I looked at her stunned by what she just did and she says

"Love" she walks past me and I don't stop her this time
