Hesitation

After tending the fire night turned into day and somehow Toothless got them to stay another night. I however was chowing down on the fish from last night until I found the devil spawn of Fish an eel. Pausing in my eating and morning away from it I decide how to get rid of it and me in my rush decided that it was only logical idea was to fling it out of my cave entrance with as much force as I could. Grabbing it with my paw I shuffle to the entrance holding it far away from me and throwing it out with as much force as I can, and after a wet smacking sound was heard along with a thump and a "hey!" I realized that I might've thrown it towards hiccup by accident and hit him as well, I shrug before turning around and continuing my day. At dusk I started to prepare myself mentally, the fear of trusting someone again was in one word absolutely terrifying. And if I were to trust them again would they betray me?

(Flashback)
It was mid spring and I was injured early that week in my dragon form, so I decided to check out the small town nearby. It was the morning so the market was booming with people, I wandered through the stalls buying a small loaf of bread and trying to find some sort of work in the area, a commotion to my left catches my attention and walking torwards it I realize that There was two children kids a girl and a boy, the girl protecting the boy from a man in front of her.

" these two were caught stealing food from our booths and should be punished, if they cannot pay for the food they stole they should be turned in to the jail for being theifs!"

Nobody offers their money or their help, and I was overcome with anger. Pushing through the crowd I grab them like a frantic mother

"Don't you two dare leave my sight again! Do you hear me I was worried sick about you two! I am so sorry for my children sir I went to a nearby store thinking that they would be alright but apparently they can't keep their hands to themselves! I apologize and I will pay for everything that they have taken today."

I reach into my bag and pull out a small hand-full of coins, and placeing it into the mans hand

" I really do hope it's enough sir, I will take them home and give them a very stern talking to"

I grab their hands and hastily make my way through the crowd and out of the market we veer off into an ally. Letting go of their hands the girl shields her brother behind her before angrily speaking

"Who are you! We had it under control you didn't need to do that!"

"I saved your life ok? I'm sorry for that but I couldn't just stand there and let them hurt you both it's ok alright I mean no harm just stay with me for a bit and lay low until it blows over."

Reluctantly the girl gives me a look before slowly she nods. I reach my hand out in a twist of fate her brother reaches out and I take his hand instead.
(End flashback)

I gasp as I come out of my memory blinking back tears as I curl in on myself  breathing heavily, it takes me longer then I would like to admit to gather myself. Closing my eyes I breath deeply for ring the past back where is should stay- in the past, I realize that I need to go and meet hiccup soon. Facing the entrance to my cave I realize it's pitch black out, I lumber to the entrance, peeking my head out I look at hiccup and his mother sitting by the fire peacefull and happy.
