"Hello"

After I had calmed down from protecting the girls and hesitantly leaveing them after some bribes of fish of course, hiccup led me back to the caves. When I walked into the room, there's was nearly every dragon species alive, from the smallest to well the biggest that could fit in (me). The atmosphere changed among the dragons when I entered, many shied away some moveing as far as they could to get away from me. I didn't mind, many dragons stayed away from me because my species is basically nonexistent and ancient, so none if any have seen or lived with my kind.
I wait in the big room as hiccup goes to a smaller cave one that I cannot fit into I look around the room bright colors showing in every area as hiccup talks to someone. A woman walks out later a jar of what smells like tree sap in her hand, as we make eye contact her eyes widen in shock before she smiles telling hiccup to take me outside to the field while she gathers the others and a lot more sap.

They patched my wings easily tying bandages around them securing them close to my body to stop them from moving, eventually the month passed and the beginning of summer started. I started to be more distant from everyone, I still had a week and a half to go untill I could fly properly which isn't too bad but the slow healing was getting on my nerves and my human body was aching to be free again. I patrol the village at night because i rather not stay in the caves with most of the other dragons. The moon was out tonight and it was beautiful and cloudless, there was a hill near the village giveing me a sort of birds eye of everything, it's my favorite spot to sit. As I relax I start to think of the past and I'm comforted my a memory.

Memory

" hey I'm back! I've gotten some food for us to eat and a little present!"

" cool mom! E is out helping at the docks again, I've picked some flowers and fruits from our garden to sell tomorrow too."

" aww thanks dear, your such a help around the house, I'll take you to the village with me tomorrow and i can sell what you've picked, you can take a break after and wander around the village for a bit"

" really?! That's awesome thanks mom,"

I can feel the smile on my face at the young girl in front of me, my age may be older then hiccup phisically but I've aged slower then many and have been around for hundreds of years since I've left the caves.

" hey guys I'm back! Sorry I'm late they needed some help with loading barrels onto boats"

" it's ok bunny, I've brought food and a gift for you both. But we should eat first, now come on sit sit"

The small hut was warm with a nice fire going casting the last cold days of winter and cold nights of spring. we all sat by the table eating, I've been here for a few years raising these two ever since I found them in the village that day. I know that they will leave soon and build a home of their own and I will leave to continue my long life, but as we sat there eating and laughing and telling stories I was the happiest I've been in a long time.

My attention breaks as I hear shuffling behind me looking back I see a human, no cold glint of metal in their hands eases my body and I turn back to the stars my own scales glowing softly in the darkness. I see the figure sit next to me and I see that it's hiccups mother valka. We sit in silence before she speaks.

" your wounds tell a story frig, you have lived long and fought longer, yet your eyes hold so much sadness for such a beautiful dragon."

I make a sad purr as I feel the tears prick my eyes memory's of screams and fire seem to take over my mind I can hear their screams of my children ones that I may have not birthed but we're mine none the less. A tear falls as I lay my head near the woman the grief burying its way into my soul with claws sharper then any sword. Valka seems to understand that I am upset and doesn't push it, she tells me how she was taken from hiccup when he was a babe and she couldn't go back, she told me how she made a sanctuary for dragons against a evil man and her husband passing shortly after they met again. It was the wee hours of the morning when we both fell asleep.
