" Eret?...... there's a man that I know with that name, he isn't here in the village at the moment, hiccup sent him and some others to a neighboring village to form peace between us. But don't worry dear, Drogo is gone and dead."

I look at her in confusion and a spark of hope lights in my chest at the thought of my son being alive and joy at Drogo's death.

" Drogo killed my husband about a year ago and attacked Burk, we barely won but in the end hiccup and toothless saved us all killing Drogo and some of his army joined ours we've been expanding ever since, toothless is alpha of dragons now. Drogo got what was coming to him"

I start to laugh a smile on my face thanking the gods and anyone else listing to me that drogo is gone and that my children were avenged. Looking at the stars I smile again before a wave of relief comes over me a weight is lifted off of my shoulders happy the man that killed my family is gone for good.

" it's late dear why don't you come down with me and sleep in a real bed?,  I have a spare room in my house  I can give it to you for the night?"

" thank you valka your kindness means everything to me and I will gladly take up your offer..... but I think I would rather sleep under the stars tonight."

" of course, my offer is allways open alayah, there's a back door you can go through and there should be a bed in the loft area for you at any time, do you need anything before I leave?"

" no, I should be fine.. though since it's the anaversiry of my childrens death my dragon form will be more protective and maternal with  any smaller creatures. I cannot allways control it but you might want to warn the village and chief hiccup about my tendencies."

" I'll make shure to let them know dear, have a good nights rest, I'll check on you in the morning, goodnight"

I woke in my dragon form the next morning it was nice out and there was some fish in a pile nearby, most likely from valka. throughout the day many dragons visited me they could sense my pain of loss and many understood my loss of young ones, through the day I was never really alone many of the young dragons would hang around me and some older dragons relaxed too, some people came by and tried to take their dragons back and if they didn't want too a small growl would scare them away back to the village. Toothless was with me for most of the day much to hiccups disbelief, everyone noticed the change in attitude with the dragons and valka explained that she can guess at this time of year I lost some of my children making me to be depressed and verry maternal to the outher dragons and anything new I could imprint on.

The next day many of the older dragons went back to their riders, some of the younger ones stayed and toothless stayed with me the whole day again, it was nice to have him near he reminded me of Eret with his playfulness we talked about many things through the day and I told him about my children though I made it seem like they were dragons, he told me about him and we took a nice nap in the sun together It was like he was my son. hiccup came later that afternoon when me and toothless were watching the small dragons play around and fight.

" c'mon bud I haven't seen you all day what about we go back down to the village and eat? We can go flying afterwards?"

Toothless gives him a gummy smile not moveing as I watched hiccup try to bargain with the alpha. Soon hiccups freinds and their dragons came up the hill trying to figure out what was going on, hiccup got frustrated with him and started to talk to Astrid and they trued to figure out how to get toothless away from me. I found it funny, toothless was acting proud and stubborn and he didn't want to leave me even though I told him he can leave whenever, but it seems like he sees me as a mother and no mommas boy wants to leave his mother. like any mother would do to their clingy son I decided that there was only one option to embarrass him in front of his friends.

I shuffle over close to the nightfury the Vikings backing up not knowing what I was going to to. I sit behind toothless a smug look on my face and a sneaky glint in my eye. I place a paw around his body lifting him slightly, leaning down to lick the top of his head, he pauses and looks up at me in shock only to be met with another lick and a smile. I hear hiccup laugh and I continue to groom toothless as much as I can until he struggles away from me grumbling. I can hear the others laughing and the dragons poking fun at him, I laugh with them for a little bit telling toothless.

' you act like a nestling, you get treating like one alpha, I have no problem putting you back into your place and THAT goes for your freinds too, they may have riders but I won't hesitate to put them in their place either, do I make myself clear?"

' yes elder, I understand, But can I come back tonight to see you?'

"Yes of course, but go and hang out with your friends for a while I will will be fine child"

While reassuring toothless and telling him and the others off I hear snickering from the Vikings, it seems like Astrid picked up on what I was slinging because a quiet ' I think she's telling him off for not going with you hiccup'
Followed by a few other giggles. Toothless listens to me and they leave me to the young ones, I decide that I need to fly for a bit so I open my wings wide stretching them before takeing off into the clouds.
