Chapter Nine: Feeling Good
"Thank you," one of (Y/N)'s co-workers, Theo, says to her as she hands him the knife. She only nods, this being strange to Theo. (Y/N)'s usually very cheerful around Theo because he is the mood maker and he's always happy, it just rubs off on her. "Hey, you okay?" He asks.
She nods again as she finishes washing up. "(Y/N), I know it's your day off tomorrow, but, would you mind coming in in place of Madison? I'll pay you extra, of course." (Y/N)'s boss, Woojin, asks with puppy eyes.
The girl smiles slightly and nods. "I wouldn't actually," she says, earning a skeptical look from Theo. "Hey, I'm being paid extra." She adds, making him laugh softly.
Woojin smiles and gives her a quick hug. "Thank you so much, (Y/N)," he says.
Since she has been working here for eight months now, Woojin and (Y/N) have actually gotten closer, mostly because he was a family friend of the Bang's and Kim's and Chan introduced the two in the past. Woojin was twenty when he took over his father's bakery, now he's twenty-four and has been running everything as smoothly as he could.
"You're welcome, Woojin." She smiles back at him when he pulls away.
"Okay, so, start tomorrow at eight, the shift is ending at seven." He says.
(Y/N) grabs Woojin's arm as he is about to walk away. "Woojin, is it...okay...if I stay longer tomorrow and today, overtime?"
He sighs, "(Y/N), Chan and Seungmin saidㅡ"
"Please, I need this, Woojin," (Y/N) pleads and pouts.
Woojin sucks in a breath and nods, he understands. "Okay...but don't tell Seungmin or Chan."
"I definitely won't."
Woojin smiles and pulls her in a hug again before walking away. (Y/N) sighs as she thinks of Chan while preparing more batter for the cupcakes. She remembers what happened at the park, and the fact that they haven't talked since that day. Was that…his girlfriend?
"Woah, woah, (Y/N), too much sugar." Theo says, taking the container and dry measuring cups from her hands.
(Y/N) gives a tight smile to the ginger-haired boy. "Sorry, just...distracted."
Theo smirks just a bit. "Boy trouble, eh?" He nudges the girl before putting the equipment and ingredients back to their original places.
How did he…?
"What boy trouble? Pft…" (Y/N) rolls her eyes.
Theo shrugs and laughs at the girl. "Fine, play oblivious, then."
She shakes her head and pushes him away. "Bye, Theo."
The next morning, (Y/N) wakes up to her phone blasting her ringtone very loudly. She groans and sees the contact name.
'Lee Minho'
How did he even get my number or get his number into my phone? She asks herself.
"What?" She asks grumpily into the phone.
Minho chuckles, and for some reason, the sound being so near to her ear, made her shiver a bit. "Morning to you, too."
(Y/N) says nothing to Minho as she stares up at her ceiling, thinking of a certain someone. Whipped.
"I'm heading out with Chan today, do you want toㅡ" Minho pauses and she can hear a faint voice in the background. "Oh, again? Whipped."
"Huh?" (Y/N) asks, confused. Obviously, she's not going anywhere with Chan. She needs to think things out.
"Oh, sorry, not you. Chan just said he's going on a date with a girl."
(Y/N) gulps. Of course he is.
"Girlfriend?"
"I think so," Minho says with a slight chuckle.
Chan has a girlfriend. He has a girlfriend.
"Well, I guess it's just you and I then...I mean, if you want to come, that is."
(Y/N) sighs and tells Minho that she will. They decide on meeting at the mall when (Y/N) suddenly remembers her shift. "Oh, Minho, I'm so sorry. I forgot I have a shift at eight today. It's finishing at seven."
"Oh," Minho mumbles with a hint of disappointment in his voice.
"I mean, you can come if you want and we can go at my break, then after my shift, I guess."
"Really? Okay, then. Send me that address."
"Someone's excited." She chuckles. "You might be bored, though."
"I'm sure it'll be fun."
She isn't too sure about that.
"Alright, Minho, see you there."
