Chapter Twenty-One: 3 A.M.
(Y/N) finally got back to school. Though, she's stuck in the library for about a whole week because of all of the work she missed.
The guys, if they couldn't stay with her the whole time, took turns staying with her and helping her to understand and finish the work.
"...which means x equals—"
"(Y/N)!" A loud voice interrupts Seungmin as someone else runs into the library.
Heads turn and glares are being shot at the young male. He bows in apology and continued panting while being hunched over.
"Chan..." Pants. "Sent." Pants. "Me." Pants.
"What does he want?" (Y/N) asks curiously.
Hyunjin finally catches his breath and stands up straight. "I don't know, but he told me he has something to tell you and that it's important."
"Oh... okay..."
(Y/N) turns her head and locks eyes with Seungmin who shakes his head. "You have to finish this, (Y/N). I'm sure whatever he has to say can wait. This is due for our next class, which is in—" Seungmin paused and looked at his wristwatch. "Fifteen minutes."
She, then, looks back at Hyunjin who shrugs.
"Sorry, Hyunjin—"
Hyunjin nods. "I'll let him know."
"Thank you," (Y/N) mutters as he walks away.
"I feel bad because he ran all the way here."
"You do?" (Y/N) asks, looking at her best friend in surprise.
"Yeah. Am I not allowed to have feelings?" Seungmin asks.
"Well, y-yes, but I didn't expect you to say something so...nice."
Seungmin shakes his head, a smile playing at his lips. "How can I not? It's Hwang Hyun Jin."
(Y/N)'s eyes widen. "You like him."
Seungmin groans. "Just because I'm being nice?"
"No, but you're my best friend, so I know you like him. He's also my best friend, so I know that may feel the same way."
"What?" Seungmin asks in disbelief.
"You didn't hear that from me because he'd kill me."
"Okay!" Seungmin says a bit too loud, causing the others to glare at him. "Sorry..." he turns back to (Y/N) and sighs. "Maybe I do..."
The girl grins and ruffles his hair. "You two are cute. Now back to Math."
"Sure."

After school, (Y/N) and the other boys leave the school gates. She spots Chan walking a bit further up.
"Uh, I'm gonna go talk to him," she announces.
"Go ahead," Felix says.
She thanks them and walks faster to reach Chan. "Chan," she calls so he could slow down.
He does and she sighs as he glances at her. "Hey," he mutters.
"Where's your car?"
"In the shop. It didn't start yesterday."
"Ah... Hyunjin told me you had to talk to me at lunch."
Chan bums in agreement, but goes silent.
"Well?" The girls pushes. "What is it?" She asks.
Chan runs his tongue over his bottom lip and drags his hand through his already slightly messy hair. Yet again, if (Y/N) could've blush, then she would've in the moment.
It's quite obvious that she has feelings for Chan. Maybe a little more than she has for his best friend, Minho.
"I'm gonna break up with Cierra."
She freezes in her steps, causing him to stop walking, too.
"W-Why?"
"Honestly?"
She hums. "She's not such a good girlfriend," Chan admits, though he wants to admit something else.
"And maybe I have feelings for someone else."
(Y/N)'s breath hitches in her throat. "Really?" She asks in a whisper.
"Mm-hm," hums Chan as he kicks a pebble.
Suddenly, the background noise of the boys behind the two fades out as he stares at her and she stares back.
"Do I know this person?" She continues to whisper, not trusting her voice enough.
"Maybe. Maybe not..."
"W-Who is it?"
Chan tilts his head without breaking eye contact.
"You."
(A/N: whoop I updated. I decided it's time to stop playing around with their feelings, but the journey isn't done YET. As some of y'all might know, I'm trying to get a Jisung fic out in December, which means I want at least either Maze or For You to end. But we shall see. Thanks for reading. Love you all ❤️
