Chapter 23

Liam's POV.

It's been going smoothly around here. I told dad mine and Cain's plan and he thought it was a great idea. Cain I decided to have a Bonfire to introduce his pack to mine and so I could show them the land I picked out for them. It's right by this little pond we go swimming in every summer. They seemed to have liked it and agreed. The build has been going smoothly so far. I had to talk Cain into letting me pay until his house sold. The pack well some threw a fit because it's Cain's pack after all but are sucking it up. I knew we were going to have problems with the packs getting along but it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Just a few got their panties in a bunch. I've been staying at Cain's. I've pretty much moved in. I do go home to check on the pack and dad keeps me up dated with all the happenings. I'm not neglecting my alpha duties. I've quite a few more things about Cain. Like he is crazy possessive and protective. I'm talking really will rip your head of shove it up your ass just for looking at me the wrong way possessive. And I'll hunt you down find you rip your arms off beat you with them the slowly kill you if you lay a finger on Liam protective. I've had to pull him off of countless guys and GIRLS for looking at me and glaring at me. He has never even tried to hit the girls but I know he wanted to. And he has a mild case of OCD. He isn't bad to were everything has to be spotless and put in it place but it does have to be clean. He's also very fatherly to them with a touch of a mother thrown in there. He disciplines them, cooks for them with grandmas help, helps with homework, he makes sure everyone is feed, bathed, in bed on time, makes sure they all go to school. That's another pet peeve he is so school and that surprised me. Everyone at school knows we're a couple now. Well some didn't take it so well. Girls literally cried because the two most wanted guys were gay. Tori showed her ass of course. Tried to tell us we were not gay and it was just a phase. Let's just say after Cain's very crude comments I mean crude she backed off then started calling us disgusting and vowed that I'd be crawling back to her. I laughed at that. Once you mate your soulmate you physically cannot cheat on them. It causes you both physical pain and besides that doesn't even cross my mind. My man please me in ways a girl never could or ever will. Everything has been going smoothly between us. We've had a few small arguments. We spend as much time as we can together. Our friends surprisingly get along. Although I think something is going on between Jace and Cam. I know Jaces mate rejected him and Cam's mate died a week after they meet because of her father. Her father was alpha of another pack and didn't like Cam because he's in mine pack so before they could even start a relationship her father had her in an arranged marriage and the guy that she was set to marry killed her a few days later. Yes Cam killed him and was going to go after her father but told him that he would let him live and suffer knowing he killed his own daughter. Dad won't have nothing to do with that alpha and I don't blame him. I'm the same way. If they need our help he'll send his wife to talk to dad. Her and Cam still speak every now and again. But mostly Cam stays away. He doesn't like to be reminded of what could have been. So I'm keeping an on eye on that relationship.

We haven't heard from Zack and I don't think we will either. Maybe I panicked for no reason. I'm sure I did and I'm not even sure why I panicked. It was just a threat.

Suddenly I hear Jace gasping for air. I look over at him and see he is holding his chest trying to get air.

"Jace!" Cain yells jumping up before anyone can do anything. He runs over to Jace kneeling in front of him. "Jace what's wrong? What is it? Breathe! Jace breathe!" he panics. I've seen this before. I get up calmly and walk over to them kneeling beside them.

"Jace." I gently say. "You said your mate rejected you right?" he nods gasping for air.

"What the fuck does that have to do with anything?" Cain ask thru gritted teeth. I look up at him and sigh.

"He's going to be fine but his mate fully mated with someone else." I tell him.

"How do you know?" he ask me.

"I've seen this before." I tell him honestly. I have too. One of my pack members mate rejected him and mated with someone else that night. Mates won't feel the claiming but will feel when they fully mate someone. It's breaking the bond. From my understanding it's painful.

"THAT BITCH!" Cain roars. By that time Jace is getting his breathing back and Cain makes him lay down covering him up. Jace curls up in a ball holding his chest and cries with Cain right beside him rubbing his back. I don't blame him. If Cain did that to me after I claimed Zack I'd probably curl up in a ball and die. Luckily he didn't and I don't have to worry about it anymore. He is mine and I'm his. After a while guess who shows up? Yep Cam. I cock an eyebrow because I didn't call him here. He actually pushes Cain away from Jace sits down where Cain was at and lifts him up his upper body cradling him.

"It's okay Jace I'm here." Cam coos. Cain looks at me with a raised eyebrow. I just smile and shrug. Who knows maybe these two can piece each other back together again.
