Chapter 31

Cain's POV.

I stayed on the hospital for a few more days and it sucked. I hated being in the hospital but Liam wouldn't let me go home until the doctor gave his okay and he wouldn't do that until I could walk from my bed to a chair on my own. My legs were so sluggish from not being used in four months it took me three days to do that. Finally they let me go home. To our new house. Over the last four months they've moved everything over and set up the rooms even mine and Liam's. So we didn't have to do anything but walk over and crawl into bed. They filled me in on what has been going on the last four months. Nothing. Just school. Oh wait. Cam and Jace mated. Yeah didn't see that coming did you? I was fine with it. Liam was fine with it. Everybody was fine with it. They also told me Mac and Vance killed Zack. I can't say I feel bad because I don't. I know I sound awful but he was wanting to kill me to get to Liam. He helped another twisted fuck to try to kill me. Almost succeeded. We pieced some stuff together although it really didn't matter to me. Griffin's reason was just money and the alpha position and he couldn't get it all without all of us dead. Vanessa she is just ate the fuck plum up. She's sitting in pretty little cell all by herself. For the rest of her life I might add. I went down to talk to her a few days after I got out of the hospital and she started crying hysterically apologizing over and over to me and Jace but you could tell it was fake. The tears, the apologizing. Everything was fake. She just didn't want to sit in a jail cell for the rest of her life and thought if she had Jace her true mate and the man she helped tried to kill on her side. They would let her out. Not happening sweet cheeks. One you tried to help kill me. I'm damn sure not helping. Two you rejected him, mated some other dude and acted like it was no big deal when he died. Jace damn sure wasn't going to help. Jace felt nothing for her. The bond was already broken she broke it by mating Zack apparently. I wasn't paying attention then but Liam told me they had. No one could understand how it was no big deal to her when he died. True soulmates or not she should have felt something. We just figured she's that cold hearted. It didn't bother Jace either way. He's mated now and is in love. She threw a fight when Jace went down with me and she got a good ole whiff of him. She was doing it all for show. Nothing more.

I had to explain to Liam about me being a true alpha. Yes my dad was the alpha of the pack and I was next in line. There wasn't much to tell really. My mom would have taken over until I was ready but since she died to Griffin got it but the money was still in our name. He could only get to his part and that's what he handed me thinking I would think it was my parents life insurance money because in his eyes he would get it all back when he got all the money once we were all dead. That's what I'm in the process of doing now is getting the real inheritance money. The money Seth and Savannah has is also his money. He had Mrs. Collier thinking it was the inheritance money too. See he was rich why did he need more money? People I swear. Money hungry assholes. So I'm trying to get it and dads company. I haven't decided if I want to keep that or sell it. I know nothing about it and Griffin was running it so there's no telling what illegal stuff he has going thru there. Dad never had me work for his company or shove it down my throat because he believed I needed my own way. All of us kids did. If we wanted to learn it and take over then we could have it but we needed to find our own way first. So I just might keep it to keep mom and dads legacy going. If I don't run it maybe Seth or Savannah will. Who knows. Charlie is taking care of my old pack. Yes it's rightfully mine but I still don't want a big pack or move because and that's what would happen if I took over. So I think he is talking to another alpha near there that he trust about taking over.

"What do you say we get out of here?" Liam says out of the blue.

"What do you have in mind?" I ask cocking an eyebrow.

"Oh I don't know. Florida, California, Alaska who cares. Let's just go somewhere." he chirps. Woah I thought he was talking about going somewhere like to the mall or something.

"Uh." I mumble I didn't know what to say. "Can't afford it." I say instead.

"I'll pay." I knew he'd say that.

"My pack?"

"Dad will look after it." he tells me. "Come on Cain. No excuses. You, me, the boys." that did sound tempting.

"Where?" I ask.

"You want sun or snow?"

"Umm sun." I answer.

"Gamble or laze around?"

"Umm laze I guess."

"Good choice. Florida or California?"

"Hmmm." I hum thinking. They both have sun, water, Disney world. "Let's call the boys in and see what they say." I say and he agrees. So we called them in and discussed it. Later that day Liam had everything booked and ready to go. Now all I had to do was make sure the kiddies were taken care of. So I talked to Charlie and Mrs. Collier. They both agreed. Charlie was going to watch over the pack. Mrs. Collier is going to make sure they are feed, cleaned and went to school.
