Cain's POV.

I'm either not getting this or just not comprehending it. I don't understand. Why kill them? Why not just challenge him? Why kill us all?

"What? Why?" I ask confused fuming mad.

"I needed you whole family dead!" he growls at me. What am I missing?

"I'm not getting this? Why?" I ask stupidly.

"I wanted the alpha position!" he growls.

"Why not just challenge him?" I ask.

"Because he could have beaten me easily." so true. My dad was mean.

"Why kill the whole family though?"

"The money?" he yells at me. Okay I get that. "I needed the money that came with it but if your mom lived she would get the alpha position and money until it was your time. With you all dead it would automatically come to me but you three survived."

"Why not kill us after?"

"Because I knew it would come back on me. So I had to come up with plan B. I kicked you out until you turned eighteen then I could track you down and kill you then your brother and have savvy mate my son sign over the money when she turned eighteen." he tells me. "You know your one hard little fucker to track down. But once my little tracker found you I came up with plan C but that failed too."

"Plan C?" I ask.

"Oh yes plan C. What better way to kill you." he says with a chuckle and out walks Zack. Okay I'm so lost here. What the hell does Zack have to do with this? "You see once Zack found you kept tabs on you he figured something out. I think before you even did." he says laughing. I cock an eyebrow. "That Liam was your mate. Then I got to thinking. I could gain control of two packs and have twice as much money." he says chuckling. Loud growls go thru the crowd. He laughs again. "Let me finish please. Anyway so I had one of my other little spy's play with Liam since she seemed to have taking a real liking to him." out walks some girl.

"Vanessa." Jace whispers confused.

"It's Tori to you dumbasses." she laughs. Okay I'm really confused.

"Anyway." he says with a sigh. "She tried but failed!" he growls at her. "To seduce Liam into sleeping with her but he wouldn't go for it but it still worked. You two broke up. Well then I sent in Zack to play the gay boys roll to seduce Liam into mating him but that didn't work either. Liam is to in love with you and only claimed him. See the plan was to get him to mate him so I could kill him. That way him mating Zack would have killed you off I could have gotten rid of Liam then his father." Charlie starts laughing again.

"So let me get this straight." I start out. "Since you couldn't kill my father in your own. You planned on killing my whole family so you could have the everything that related to being alpha? Then we survived you decided to kick me out until I was eighteen. Then you were going to kill me for the part of my hesitance that would go to my brother and sister anyway and then kill my brother and have my sister mate your son so you could get everyone's money? Then you found me and had two people watch over for how many years? Then realized Liam was my mate and poof you had two pack and buttload of cash. Right? Then decided to kill me off by having my mate mate someone else. Then kill him off and go after his pack because what let me guess with their son dead they wouldn't put up much of a fight right? Did I get it all?" I ask rhetorically.

"Yes." he simply answers. I laughed at that.

"God your stupid." I laughed out.

"And why is that?!" he growls at me.

"One I'm not stupid enough to kill myself over my mate just because he mated someone else or if he happened to have died." that part isn't true. I don't think I could live without Liam. "Two call me stupid but I don't think Charlie would no matter how distraught over his sons death would just let his pack go. But hey that's just me." I say shrugging. "So why you here now?" I ask cocking my eyebrow. "All your stupid attempts failed." I snicker.

"Yeah I figured if I wanted something done why not go after it yourself!" he growls at me. He whistles then a whole bunch of wolves come out of the woods. Yeah do it your self asshole. Right. He is pathetic. He shifts and I shift not even thinking. This creep is trying to kill me, Liam, my brother and I'm guessing anyone that gets in his way. He lunges at me and I lunge at him. He caught me by my shoulder biting it hard. I yelped biting at his stomach. He yelped releasing me. We fought and fought. He's tougher than I gave him credit for. He got me good several times but I can't let him win. There's no telling what he would do to everyone. So I kept going, bleeding and bruised until I finally got him pinned down panting heavily. I didn't waste time. I ripped his throat out. I got off of him just in time for another wolf to lunge at me. He didn't take long for me to take him down. I was fighting left and right losing blood and my strength. I honestly don't know if I could go on but I had to when I saw my pack as well as Liam's fighting their hearts out. I knew I couldn't give up. Another shot of adrenaline burst thru my body and I fought and fought. I saw a huge wolf going after Seth and I knew what was fixing to happen. I took off head butting him away from Seth. He jumps back on his feet lunging for me.
