It came to me in my sleep...
I saw the world on fire, my home burning around me. My hair turned gray from the ashes of the orphanage I called home.
"This may be fire Akito, but tis not our flame. This, is an act of Chaos."
The voice was feminine, her tone was not of shock. It was that of hatred. Turning to the voice gave me more questions.
She stood tall, her hair ablaze with magical power. Her yellow eyes looked beyond me with fierce hatred. She wore a red and white kimono, as if she served a Shinto god or goddess. Trailing behind her were nine foxtails that radiated a noble power. Power exclusive to the destructive power of flame. Her skin was an unnatural pale, but it made her look so noble.
"Take my strength Akito, it may be the only way to protect yourself till he arrives."
"He?"
Before she even had a chance to speak a massive energy erupted from her. The white hot magic leaving her forces itself into my very soul. The fire burned from the inside of my body and began to build up. As if my soul kept it from exploding.
"This is my gift to you, the one who will free the land from chaos. I will always be apart of you Akito..."
As the world grew dark I got one last glimpse of her. The tails that made her so noble had disappeared, all that was left were the clothes she wore. She had fallen to her knee, she looked like she was dying. She probably was, it felt like she had given her very soul to me.
...Waking up to the sound of my adoptive brother Kai snoring was not how I imagined my day would begin.
Today was the day of observation. An agent of the magic Academy's school board comes to the orphanage to see if any of the children have potential to be magicians. Today was special because my two brothers, my little sister, and I have come of age. The four of us are ready to see if we have potential.
"Shut up Kai!!"
A pillow was hurled from the top of the rickety old bunk bed I slept on. The pillow collided with the sleeping, blonde, monster.
In an instant the room went quiet...
Pulling the feather pillow slowly off his face you could see that his green eyes were filled with rage.
"Which one of you... WHICH ONE OF YOU DID THAT!!!"
Lifting the white pillow above his head he looked at my older brother, then to me. After seeing my smirk his rage exploded.
Before I could blink Kai headshotted me. He threw that feathery pillow with the might of Zeus.
"That'll teach y-"
Coming to my aid, Torra jumped from the top of the bed to the ground, swinging the cloudlike blade with deadly accuracy. As Kai's mind was clouded with pain, Torra took the opportunity to speak.
"I'm 16 years old, and so are the two you. Must we act like children?"
"Oh shut up Tor!"
I lunged from the bottom bunk of the bed, tackling Torra to the carpeted floor.
"Oh its on Akito!"
As Torra and I rumbled on the ground like professional wrestlers, Kai snuck up behind me. Before I could beat him back Kai put me in a full-nelson.
"Get him Torra!"
As Torra grabbed my shirt collar he picked up a pillow. As he swung down to take me out, the old wooden door to our room swings open.
