~Gianna Velkerie's Pov~

The door bell rung and I immediately rushed down the stairs, excited to finally meet him. The maid was about to open the door but I got there first, swinging the door open.

Ivan stood there with a smile on his face as he saw me. He held out a bouquet of flowers, making me smile brightly at him. I quickly took the flowers from his hands and dragged him inside. We were laughing happily.

We've been friends for a couple of years now. He would occasionally go to my house and vice versa. I was his best friend and he was mine. We bonded and saw each other frequently since our parents were always talking about royalty and business stuff.

I don't really pay much attention to things now-a-days. I almost bumped into a wall since I was always day dreaming about some things- or someone. Ivan was always on my mind ever since I turned the age of fifteen. It has been two years since I've had a crush on my best friend. I won't let my feelings get in the way of our relationship though. I would always push away my feelings because I didn't want to lose our friendship over my stupid heart. I smiled at the thought of him being here, feeling the butterflies in my stomach.

I dragged him in the kitchen with me, dropping his hand and started looking for a vase to put the flowers in.

"You know that you didn't have to bring me flowers." I said quietly, opening one of the cabinets and finally finding a pretty vase. I went over to the sink and filled the vase up with a little bit of water then putting the bouquet of flowers inside it.

I walked over to the kitchen table and settled down the vase gently, arranging the flowers to make it look presentable.

"But I wanted too. Also, mother forced me to bring it anyway." Ivan muttered, rubbing the back of his neck which made me laugh aloud.

After I composed myself from my burst of laughter, I looked up at him to see that he was already staring at me with his signature grin- his dimple popping out. I smiled back at him, enjoying the comfortable silence between us.

"Do you know where they went?" I referred to our parents.

"Mother just told me that they were going to visit the Chikryn family." Ivan shrugged, leaning on the table.

I nodded at his direction, turning around and made my way to the stairs. Ivan followed close behind, his shoes making tip tap noises. I held the railing and gracefully walked up the grand stairs, lifting up my dress so that I wouldn't step on it. I strolled down the hallway, deja vu flooded through my brain. I was about to round the corner until I saw Ms. Syrean step out from the door beside the corner.

I squeaked out in shock and Ms. Syrean's head snapped towards my direction- her eyes turned wide in realization.

"The whole city of Noxly!" Ms. Syrean shouted out in surprise. That was what she usually says when she was surprised or shocked.

"I'm so sorry Princess Gianna! I should've looked at where I was going. I'll make it up to you- um.." Ms. Syrean rambled on, making me quite irritated.

"Ms. Syrean." I tried to make her stop but she kept on talking. I felt the irritation grow. I was about to yell at her to be quiet but Ivan stopped me from doing so by putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Excuse me Miss, but we need to get going." Ivan spoke smoothly;he smiled sweetly at Ms. Syrean- using his boy charm. I rolled my eyes at his antics.

"Oh. Oh! I'm so sorry- I'll leave you to it." Ms. Syrean said hurriedly, scurrying away as she went back to do her work.

"You and your boyish charms."I mumbled under my breath making him chuckle.

He put both of his hands on my shoulders and we both walked down the hallway, around the corner. The familiar painting stood there with pride which made me smile. I put my hands on the side of the painting and moved it to the side, revealing the tiny door that held many secret behind it.

"Remember, once we go in there- we can't say anything that we've talked about when we get out." I said seriously which made him roll his eyes at me.

"Yeah, yeah. I know the drill. Do you seriously have to explain that every time we go in there? Gianna, we've been doing this for years now. Don't you think I would have remembered the promise after the seventh time you've said it?" Ivan said lazily, his brown eyes locking with my blue ones.

I felt my heart flutter when he said my name but I shook my head to get rid of the feelings.

"Uh- no. I need to remind you every time since you will most likely forget." I said, unlatching the lock from the door.

"Gianna." He said my name slowly, making a shiver run down my back.

I opened the door then turned around to look at him.

"Yes?" I replied innocently.

"Trust me when I say I would never forget our promise." He said seriously, whispering it out so only I could hear.

I felt my heart beating so hard that I heard it in my ears as the butterflies erupted in my stomach. He took my hand and crouched down, going inside of our sacred wonderland with me trailing behind him.
