~Rose Genavean's Pov~
I gasped for like the tenth time today. It was truly amazing to see this place. The sky was a dark and stars twinkled in the sky. I saw tiny fairies putting their magic onto the flowers; making them bloom before going to the tree we were headed. My eyes shone in excited, loving how I felt so at peace here. My gaze went to Ivan and he hooked his hand with mine, pulling me closer to him.
Once we were up the hill and next to the tree, Gianna was already sitting there; mumbling stuff underneath her breath. Ivan and I ignored her though, sitting down beside each other next to the tree.
"Do you like the party so far?" Ivan asked me.
"I guess so; I just feel so out of place." I admitted.
"It's okay to feel nervous. It's your first time anyway." He shrugged and we started to talk about random stuff about the party.
I didn't notice that Gianna was getting redder and madder every second the time had passed by. Ivan and I were just having a good time, talking to one another. I felt a sense of déjà vu wash over me for some odd reason, like I had this conversation with Ivan in my dreams once before.
Then finally, the ticking time bomb exploded.
"Ivan! What's wrong with you?" Gianna screamed in anger.
"Huh?" Ivan asked, turning to look at her; confused.
"This place was only meant for you and me, and here you are; bringing a commoner along!"
"I don't see what the big deal is Gianna."
"She doesn't deserve to be here."
"Gianna." Ivan said sternly, holding one of my hands with his own and sent a disapproving glare at Gianna's way.
"No! I get to be mad. You left me behind ever since you met her and my mother died!" Gianna exasperated, her anger leaking from her words.
I felt myself get very uncomfortable with the tension in the air. It was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. My eyes widened when I saw the night sky slowly shift color, turning into a blood thirsty red. The clouds disappeared and all there was in the sky was maroon red. I felt something fall on my forehead, and my free hand reached up to touch it.
A horrified scream left my lips making them both stop their arguing to look at me. On my hand was a sticky residue of someone's blood. It trickled down my hand and I felt another droplet fall onto my head.
"Ivan, we need to go now." I exclaimed, tugging on his arm and stood up.
Ivan quickly followed pursuit but Gianna held onto his hand.
"Why do you always listen to her? She doesn't mean anything!" Gianna yelled out, tugging at Ivan's hand.
Ivan got his grip out of Gianna's hold and responded to her, "Don't you dare say that. She means the world to me."
"You don't know that."
"Yes I do, she's my girlfriend, and later on in life- she'll be my fiancée. After that, she'll become my wife and become the mother of my children." Ivan said through gritted teeth, but I was shocked with the words that came out of his mouth.
He wanted to have a future with me? I thought to myself.
Gianna let out a cry of frustration then finally stood up, going behind the tree and grabbing something. I gasped out when I saw the sharp knife in her hands as she twirled it around; playing with it.
"You were supposed to be mine. All mine. Everything was perfect." She called out to Ivan, making goose bumps erupt on my arms once again at the creepiness of her voice.
She then pointed the knife at me, "But then she came into the picture."
"She stole everything away from me in a split second. She will pay for it." Gianna said, taking a few steps towards us while we took a few steps back.
"You know, my mother always said to never let anyone get in the way of my goal. She said if there was any problem; get rid of it." Her pace started to quicken and we almost fell backwards from the hill.
"I'm getting rid of the problem, and she is standing right in front of me."
She suddenly charged at us and we were quick to dodge her. Ivan and I went opposite ways, but I knew I had to keep running because I was her target, not him. I moved left to right, trying to avoid her grip. I ran down the hill into the garden, feeling guilty as my feet trampled on some flowers. I felt bad for all the hard work the fairies but into this garden but here we were; destroying it.
A yelp escaped my lips as I saw the knife fly past me, landing on one of the trees, I avoided all the trees along the way, ducking under branches and hopping over bushes, after a few minutes of running from my potential murderer, I felt my heart stop as I came to a halt.
A dead end.
I quickly spun around, about to sprint for it but Gianna was already there, blocking out the only entrance and exit. Both our dresses were dirty and half torn from the branches and some of the thorns the flowers had. She held up the knife, licking her dried lips.
"He always talks about you. He always pays attention to you. He was never supposed to be with you. He is mine." She yelled out, charging at me.
I dodged her for the most part but then she grabbed my arm, pulling me towards her. I pulled my arm closer to me then thrust it backwards and my elbow managed to hit her ribs. She let go of me and I was about to reach the exit but she got a hold of my hair. She gripped it tightly, pulling on the roots making me scream out in pain. I hit her hand but she still kept a tight grip on my hair. I pulled away from her, trying to get away.
I suddenly fell to the ground with a loud thud, my whole body aching from the fall. Dirt covered my forearms and my dress, some even on my own face. I rolled on to my back, using my hands to drag me backwards away from the monster. My eyes widened when I saw what was in her hand.
My beautiful hair was dangling from her hand. She had an evil glint in her eyes as she held it up; waving it around a bit. I touched my head and that's when everything clicked into place.
She cut off my hair.
I scurried away from her, standing up and tried to run past her. She held my arm to stop me from escaping. She held me close into a hug and I felt a painful sting in my stomach. She took a couple steps back looking at me like I was some form of art. I looked down at my stomach and saw the knife jabbed into my appendix. She twisted the knife in my stomach then pulling it out, the blood gushing out.
I staggered backwards, feeling loopy. I slowly fell to the floor, my vision getting blurry. She stepped towards me, seeing me fighting for my life. She smiled evilly and then stabbed the knife into my leg making me yell out in pain. She left the knife in my leg, knowing that it hurt like burning lava. I felt very hot, my skin layered in sweat. I felt as if I couldn't breathe my heart in frenzy. I coughed out, and looked to the side seeing myself cough out blood.
She smiled sweetly at me; laughing maniacally looking at me with a stare that would send me running.
"Next time; know that he is mine. He belongs to me. Oh wait- there isn't a next time." She smiled and tugged on the knife, pulling it out.
"See you on the other side; commoner." Then she stabbed the knife into my heart.
