~Ivan Posh's Pov~
"What?" I asked, shocked at this newly found information. Rose told him that her father died and that her mother was far away.
"She's my daughter." She said again, crying even more.
"Ms. Syrean, didn't you say that you didn't have a husband?" My mom asked in remorse.
"I don't have a husband. I wasn't supposed to get pregnant with Rose. My partner cheated on me. He told me lies, many, many lies." Her hands were shaking.
"He was already married with someone else, but he still was with me." Her bottom lip quivered and she looked down at the ground ashamed.
"Who is he?" Mr. Velkerie demanded, looking at her with dark eyes.
Ms. Syrean looked at Mr. Velkerie and her whole body shook with fear as she looked away.
"My king.." She tried to reason with him.
"Who is he?" He repeated; his voice stern.
"Mr. Chikryn, my king." She whispered out, biting on her bottom lip as she closed her eyes with more tears leaking.
Mr. Velkerie stood up immediately, his eyes filled with rage. He charged towards her but my father and some other gentlemen held him back, trying to get him to calm down.
"My baby is gone."
I knelt down with Ms. Syrean, putting my arms around her and held her close in a comforting hug. Tears started to leak from my eyes also, my heart aching at the harsh truth of reality.
We cried together, Ms. Syrean was fully sobbing now; she let everything out, not caring of what people thought of her. She whispered something under her breath, praying that she'll get her baby back. Something twinkled from above me making look up.
The tiny fairies glowed and slowly settled down on the ground in front of us, their wings fluttering behind them. All of the Royals gasped out in shock and all of them got behind a tree for safety while the guards took out their sword for protection. I rolled my eyes at them, thinking of how stupid they were.
Ms. Syrean was too busy crying to even notice them. One of the tiny fairies put their hands in front of them and flicked their hand back and forth. It took me awhile to understand what they were doing until it clicked in my head.
They wanted us to move.
I held Rose's head and delicately placed it on the ground from Ms. Syrean's lap. I held Ms. Syrean close to me and scooted back, letting them have their space.
The fairies let out tiny tinkles, and started fluttering around Rose's body. They started circling around her and the tinkles grew louder. I was hesitant but let them do their thing. Their circling motion became faster and faster until they glowed this shiny golden color that was blinding to our human eyes.
I shielded my eyes from the brightness and heard the tinkles getting louder and louder each second, until it stopped. I squinted my eyes at them seeing them halt to a stop and look at one another. They all nodded at one another and then put their hands in front of them. They glowed brightly and the shine was protruding from their fingertips. They all put it in front of them and one by one, their light shined in the middle amongst themselves. They raised their hands up a bit, letting the bright globe illuminate the entire forest before moving their hands down, onto Rose's dead body.
The bright globe stayed on top of Rose's body for a couple of second before they made the final move and let it inside her body. Rose's body absorbed the light and the fairies stood back, flying away. My hope was slowly slipping when I saw nothing happening.
'It didn't work.' I thought to myself sadly, everyone looking down at the floor in disappointment.
Suddenly, something glowed within Rose. It was getting brighter and brighter until the light exploded. Many of us hissed at the brightness and shut our eyes tightly, putting our hands in front of us to stop the blinding light. The whole forest was complete white and my ears were ringing from the radiation. I managed to get my eyes to adjust to the sudden change of lighting and my heart skipped out of my chest when I looked in front of me.
Rose stood there wearing a white dress. She had a flower tucked between her left ear and she looked around confused at her surroundings.
"Ivan?" She called out, squinting her eyes as if to see if that was truly me.
I stood up immediately, hearing Ms. Syrean yelp at my sudden movement. I didn't wait another second before rushing towards her, wrapping her in my arms. She squealed out when I lifted her up from the ground and twirled her around, holding her tight against me. I stopped and settled her on the ground, pulling back to look at her gorgeous face, not seeing a single scar or scratch on her face; like nothing ver happened.
"The prophecy.." The Royals murmured; their eyes wide in realization.
The immediately started gossiping; while I just stared at Rose's beautiful chocolate eyes. She had a small smile on her face and her cheeks taking a tiny red glint. Her eyes were bright and she let out a childish giggle that melted my heart. Rose's gaze turned towards the Royals and they immediately became stiff before kneeling down in a respectful bow. We both looked at them in confusion until one of the elders spoke out to us.
"It was written on the walls of the earth that one would get killed and return to the earth. That person would be the chosen one, the blessed one, the true queen." The elder said, his eyes filled with awe.
"The fallen queen had risen." Another mumbled, bowing down one more time.
"I-" Rose was about to talk but was interrupted.
"No! That's so unfair! I was supposed to be the Queen! Me! Me! Me!" Gianna whined angrily, charging towards us but the guards held her back.
"Guards, take her away and keep an eye on her father." I said to them and they just nodded, dragging her away as she struggled against their hold.
Mr. Velkerie was still in a shocked state and quickly knocked out of it. His dangerous gaze settled on Rose and I was about to tell the guards to take him away but all he did was take a bow, giving respect. We all gasped as the most dangerous and cruel king bowed before us, a grumpy smile on his lips.
I looked back at Rose who was already looking at me with a nervous expression on her face, slowly registering the new information that she was the Queen of all of Noxly.
"You'll get used to it." I whispered in her ear, chuckling.
I looked at her one last time, my gaze settling on her lips.
"I love you." I whispered softly in her ear before I placed my lips on hers, putting all my emotion and love into that kiss.
I pulled back and saw her face flustered and was completely red. She looked adorable. My eyes were filled with love and adoration and she returned the favor giving me the biggest and brightest smile.
This girl will be my future and my end.
