The guards dragged me down the hall but my vision was blurred by tears, so I couldn't tell where we were going. I could barely breathe.

'Why am I panicking? Why can't I calm down?' I heard the guards talking and a door open, but the noise sounded a million miles away. They tossed me into a room and locked the door behind me.

My knees collapsed and I fell to the floor. I leaned forward and pressed my head to my knees. I hugged my body. I honestly wasn't even sure why I was freaking out.

'what did they do to me?' I took deep, frantic breaths. Though it was painstakingly slow, I managed to calm down. My vision and hearing snapped into focus. I stared at the white floor beneath me.

"Aaron! Aaron!" I heard Jack repeating my name. He sat directly next to me, looking concerned. I looked up at him, wiping tears from my face. I wanted to say something, but my mind wouldn't work, or perhaps my brain wouldn't supply the words.

Instead, I jumped towards him, wrapping my arms around him in a desperate hug. He looked surprised but gently hugged me back as I sobbed into his shoulder. Through all of this I thought:

'What is wrong with me?'

Jack held me until I finally calmed down. Then he gently pried my hands away, though he held them in his own tightly. The room was silent. Jack looked me in the eyes, almost like a concerned parent.

"What happened?"
