Ava
I pressed the white button, curling up on the sofa as I tried to hide my tear stained face.
The phone rang but I didn't want to answer. I didn't want to speak to anyone.
I was mortified.
The door cracked open and a training doctor peeked inside, jumping as someone came behind him.
"I've got this, thankyou," Michael said, "You're sick?"
"Embarrassed,"
"How come?"
I stayed silent until he said "oh" , and sat next to me.
"Tell me about your drama tomorrow,"
"We have to become the objects in our scene instead of the people,"
"Wow, that sounds tricky,"
"Sapphire is really good at it,"
"You can be too," he smiled.
"Can you hug me?"
"Make space then,"
I shuffled forward so that he laid down behind me and hugged me. I turned to face him and buried my head in his chest, overwhelmed by it all.
"Did you meet Viola?"
"Yeah, she's really nice and I'm glad she's Ashton's friend,"
I took a shaky breath and he shushed me, gently rubbing my back.
"What if she started coming over more?"
"Why?"
"Oh, her and Ash are just getting really close,"
"Well it might be nice to have a girl,"
"I have a little suspicion that Ash really likes Viola,"
"Me too," I giggled, "let's help,"
"I think we need to let nature run its course this time,"
"Michael, your patient is here," someone said, making him hug me one last time before going to the waiting room.
However, I didn't expect Viola to knock on the door seconds later, and it made my stomach flip.
"Have you calmed down?"
I nodded and sat up, turning on the side with my knees to my chest to make space for her.
"Don't be mad at your dad,"
"I'm not,"
"Good, because he just wants the best for you. Honestly, I adore that about him,"
"I'm sorry for making a fuss,"
"It's okay, I just hope you know for next time that I won't hurt you, because it can be really difficult for us to work,"
"Will you make sure dad is okay?"
"Is something wrong?"
"He just does everything for me and never gets a break,"
"Well, I'm coming over on Saturday while you have your friends around. I'll make him sit," she laughed.
