"Hello?" His deep husky voice sounded through the phone. I looked at Dev and Jamarcus nervous. "Just say hey Dom" Dev said. I listened to what Dev said and did what she told me. "Hey Dom." I looked over to Jamarcus and Dev. They both had giggling faces and was trying not to laugh. I felt like we was college mates all over again. "What you doing?" I gazed up form my lap. "Nothing much I'm just in the living room about to sit outside though. What about you?" It was a sudden pause. "I'm laying in bed thinking about you." Those few words broke the silence. I stared at Dev and Jamarcus. They both was looking shocked and stunned. As for me, I was smiling ear to ear. I almost screamed until he broke the silence again. At this moment, I felt like I was in high school again.
"Felisa you there?" I nodded like he could see me."Yes of course! I'm just.... j-just blushing." I really was. The thought him being mines overwhelmed me. "Mmmm I see hahaha. Can I ask you something?" Dev and Jamarcus started jumping around. They was trying not to make as much noise but they started to. "Hey Dom hold on for a sec. YOU GUYS CALM DOWN!!" I whispered. "Girl you know we are not going to be quiet just go to another room." Dev said. I quietly got up and walked to my room. "Sorry about that Dom.... What was you going to ask?" He sighed a bit. The tone of voice tells me it was some bad news. "I want you Felisa... Will you be my special?" My heart dropped. The tone of his voice sounded serious. For these past few weeks there was an connection. I didn't know where it was; or how it felt. I just knew it was there. I knew he wanted to me mines....
"Dom... Yes." The words flowed out like it was nothing. My heart knew what it wanted. It just wouldn't tell me. "I'm glad." I could feel a sense of relief and protection. I felt so warm and happy. "How about we go out tomrrow?" I nodded my head like he could see me. "Yes! Yes of course! I'll call you in the morning Dom. It's time for me to get some rest." It was a quick pause. "Ok don't forget. Good night Felisa." I said good night and then hung up.
............
I plopped on the couch. It was 11. Dev and Marcus was on the couch watching a lifetime movie. "Sooooooo what all happen? I giggled. All I could do was giggle. Dominic was the only thing on my mind. "Awnser us child!" I laughed. "Ok ok! Me and Dom.... Are now official." They both screamed with amuzment. My face started to blush just of the thought of having Dom as a boyfriend. "Girl I'm glad you found someone! Hey y'all know I'm currently talking to someoneee." Me and Jamarcus nodded. For the rest of the night, me and my two best friends chatted about relationships, watched lifetime movies, and ate junk food.

"Well ya boy is off the market." I walked into my office where Jerry was sitting in my chair. He quickly looked up looking all surprised. "Sorry about me sitting in your chair and let me guess you and Felisa are official?" I nodded. I knew Jerry was a bit of a soft person. He showed it when he wanted to. "Now since y'all are together, you need to figure out about your occupation. You're dating a person who is part of the legal justice system. Now don't get me wrong, both you and me both have degrees in law. However, she is one of the top lawyers out this city. And you know Atlanta is a big city right?" "Yes, right. I'm keeping a outlook on that. I just need time to think." "Well I advise you to think fast before she finds out. I got information about Felisa. This girl had a rough past. And the fact her father was a drug lord is something she don't to relive for the rest of her life. And as strong this girl is you gotta be careful." Jerry's words echoed within my head. He had a solid point. But, the fact as far I'm within this job I don't know how to get out.
"Jerry how do I get out of this?" The question echoed around the room. Jerry was the person who left his business and turned it over to me. "I can admit that I don't know I-" "What the hell you mean you don't know? Jerry you the one that put the business in my hands. I had no cho-" "Dominic you did have a choice. You could've gave the business to Daniel. I left for a reason, now it's your turn to figure out how YOU are going to leave." I stood there stunned. The fact that I have to figure it out on my own was the thing that pissed me off. I walked out of the office. I quickly walked to my room. I slammed the door. My mind was all over the place. I was pacing around. When I walked over to my dresser, I saw a note.
"Be careful when picking and choosing your fights. You'll loose something you love. By the way, be careful when you open the closet. You might explode something."
I studied the note and then looked at the closet. I soon listened closely. There was a beeping noise coming from it. "5..4..3..2..-" "HOLY SHIT!" The bomb exploded. I crashed into the mirror. I quickly heard Jerry running to my room. "Dom what the hell is going on?!?" He busted down the door. "Uncle Dom are you ok?" Ari said walking up to me. I got up and dusted myself off. "Yes thank you Ari. Bruh I don't know what the fuck just happened." I quickly picked up the note. "I found this threat on my dresser." I handed Jerry the note. "Well I know for sure this is someone who we don't know. Daniel doesn't write like this. This person is out to ruin you and probably the person who framed you for the murder. In the morning you need to head to the office and talk to Felisa ASAP." I nodded. "But first we need to make sure the police ain't coming. You know how neighbor's are." Jerry nodded. "Shit this room took me months to make. Now it's fucked up." I looked around the room. My mirror was shattered, the closet was halfway gone, my clothes were scattered everywhere, and my rewards I earned were broken. "This is $7,000 worth of damage. Damn. Now I got to sleep in the guest room until this gets repaired." Jerry picked up a picture. "Hey at least keep this with you." It was a series of pictures in a fame. One was my mother and when I was fifteen, the next one was me and Jerry when I first started working at the building company, the next one was a picture of me and Felisa, and the last one was me and my father at my high school graduation. Behind the pictures was a letter my mother wrote for me before she died. Clipped to the note was a picture of me and my parents. "I'm glad this survived. I can't let precious memories go like this." Jerry smiled. "Same here man. Same here."
The next morning I headed over to the office with Jerry. Ari had went over to her grandmother's house for the weekend. Walking inside it was a huge crowd of people. "What the hell is going on here?" I asked one of the lawyers who worked at the office. "Jerry I'm glad you brought Dom here you gotta come look for yourself." Dev walked us over to Felisa's office. My eyes widened. Either my eyes deceived me or it was a reality. Spotting from a distance I saw Felisa crying. I ran over to her. "Felisa are you ok?" She looked up at me. Her mascara was running down her face and her head was bleeding a bit. When she saw me, she pulled off of Marcus and ran to me. "Dominic what the hell is going on?!?" She said while crying. I looked over and saw a note. I studied it. "What does it say?"
"Be careful when you mess with someone. The same one I got last night."
