I looked around the room. I felt the pain still but a lot less. It was silent. What shocked me was Jerry. He stood there with sadden eyes. He must feel that I can't handle the business. Knowing I should say something to him, I couldn't. It hurts to talk.
"Hey everybody." I looked over at the door to see Daniel. Knowing I was still upset about our fight, I accepted him in. Everyone spoke but Jerell and Felisa. They mean mugged the shit out of Daniel. "Son." I looked at my father. His eyes looked very red. Me and my father had a bond ounce I moved out the house after my mother died. He was proud that went to college and got a degree. But the hard thing I had to tell him was the drug dealing. When I first told him he was devastated. He never thought his song would go down that road. For a while we didn't talk. Until one day he decided that he had to accept it. He knew I could find a way out but I didn't know it would be so soon when Jerry came back. Which was today.
"Yes?" I was surprised. I could talk without it hurting. "We need to talk about something when you get out the hospital." I looked at him as his eyes cut to Jerry. From that moment, I knew what he was talking about. I soon looked at Felisa. She looked at me with her sweet innocent eyes. For some reason her eyes was always so appealing to me. "I hope you're ok Dom." I attempted to give her a smile. "Don't hurt your face." My eyes cut over to Daniel faster than a cheetah when he said that. "Chill with the shit Daniel. No time for jokes." Daniel looked down with a hurt face. Jerry knew how to get Daniel straight with no hesitation. Daniel used to be Jerry's assistant before he left years ago. The day I was assigned to do this job, Daniel's attitude change. He was a more respectable person when Jerry was there. Now he shows his side that Jerry nor I have ever seen. In Daniel's lifetime he maybe have messed around with 50 girls and out of those 50 he maybe had sex with 20 of them. He was a player and there was no doubt about it. Jerry looked over at Daniel to see him in his usual casual outfit. Now to Jerry's eyes, he knew something was not right.
For 10 minutes it was silent. Felisa held my hand. Jerry noticed how she was up close to me and cuddling keeping me and her comfortable. "You must be Dominic's girlfriend?" Jerry asked. Her head shot up quick enough to notice her deep voice sounding off. "U-um I'm his lawyer sir." He gave her an confused look. I noticed how nervous he made her. To an obvious look around the room Jerry was the only person to not know what was going on. Usually my father would say what is going on but this time he didn't say anything. "Lawyer? Excuse me but may I ask you why does he need a lawyer?" I started to get nervous. Everyone noticed the heart monitor started to beep a bit fast. "We see someone got some things to say to Jerry. Ha." Jerry pulled Daniel by the shirt. "What did I tell you about that taunting shit. Your mother raised you not to be like that. As for you Dominic you got some explaining." Felisa looked at him with a bewildered look. "Hold on there is too much going on here. As me being his lawyer YOU should be talking to ME. Yes I know this is his case but by law you shouldn't dissuss-" "What happens outside of the courtroom. Can't fool me. I have a doctoral degree in law Ms. Jackson. SO, it's my buisness. Dominic is a close friend of mines and I am concerned." Felisa looked at Jerry with a jealous look. "Fine. I understand where you are coming from. And since you're a lawyer yourself you want to help us with this case?" Jerry laughed. "I noticed the sarcasticness in your voice; but no. This is your case I'll let you handle it. I just want to know what heep of trouble Dominic has got in. He's not known for it but I'm just a concerned friend." Felisa nodded her head and laid on my shoulder.
"I will tell you later. Anybody gonna spend the night here? I am." Felisa said. "So am I." Jerry spoke. "Son I'm gonna go home and I'll be back up here tomorrow. Jerell?" "Same with me. I might be up here around 6. Daniel?" Daniel hesitated but soon said "I'm going home. I'll be up here tomorrow." He said in a blunt voice. I felt a wave relief washed over me. Jeff would probably killed Daniel for the outfit he was wearing. Two people wanted to stay was Jerry and Felisa. I felt safe in a way. But the thing I was worried about was Jerry asking what was going on. If he's thinking that I got caught then he's wrong. He had a vibe that me and Felisa had a friendship developing into a relationship. The thing he can feel is that I didn't tell her I was a drug dealer. Me and Jerry was real close. Anything he can feel, I could feel.
