Peter and I trained with Nat for a good 2 hours before we took a break for lunch. I invited Peter to stay for lunch and he excepted. We walked into the kitchen.
"So Peter... do you like pizza?" I smiled. "Um yeah? Why?" "Hey Friday?" I called. "What can I do for you Mrs.Shea?" The AI spoke from the intercom. "Can you order a pizza and have it delivered to the roof?" I asked. Peter scoffed and laughed at the same time. "Really? You can do that?" I smiled. "Yeah of course, come on!" I sprinted up the stairs onto the roof.
Bursting through the door into the cool breeze of the roof. I stopped short of the roof because I saw something. Where the roof was usually barren and dull there was now a beautiful garden of flowers, as well as a big green patch of grass. In the middle of the grass there was a picnic basket. A smile crept onto my face as a ran to the basket which had a note on it. Peter followed me over to the basket, his face was in awe. "Ok is it just me or when I came up here on Monday this roof was barren, right?" "Yeah I guess this just recently happened." I said. Picking up the note I read it aloud.
"My Dearest Addison, I feel bad for leaving you without saying goodbye, but I was summoned to Asgard." I had read the next sentence in my head. 'I promise I will come back soon to help you with your new powers.' it read then I started reading aloud again. "To apologize for leaving I turned your favorite empty roof into a garden. I hope you spend days up here enjoying the outdoors." I paused and looked around. "Who wrote this?" Peter asked, and without even looking back at the note I knew who it was. "It was my Uncle Loki." I laughed looking at the flowers. Peters face went cold. "Like the Loki who tried to take over New York, Loki!" I giggled at the slight panic in Peters voice. "Yeah, he cared for me during all that..."
Putting the note back in the basket I sat down on the blanket. I patted the area infront of me indicating that I wanted Peter to come sit and he did. There was a long awkward silence then I smiled. "So I herd you broke Flash's nose..." Peters face turned red as he looked down, "Yeah... I guess I was just done with putting up with his crap." "So you didn't punch him because he was bullying me?" Peter looked up into my eyes panicked a bit. "No! I-i mean you told me to not do anything about it didn't you?" I gave a sad smile. "But if I'm being honest it was kinda fuled by the anger of you getting bullied." I smiled at him. "Thank You Peter... But I don't want you getting suspended because of me." I stood up and walked to the edge of the roof. I could feel Peter staring at the back of my head.
In a attempt to change the subject I looked out at the city and spoke. "Hey Peter?" I asked without turning around. "Yeah?" "How does it feel to swing through the city?" He laughed. "Well you can feel the wind in you face, you can here the sounds of the city replaced by wind whipping by your ears. It seems like you can see forever when your up high enough... Just like now." He stood up and came over to a place beside me. "Avengers tower is the tallest building in the state. You can see for miles up here." I laughed and looked at Peter. He smiled softly at me and looked back at the city sparkling like diamonds in the sun.
I spoke again... "Have you ever felt like you could- should be doing something more?" Peter have a slight chuckle. "That's how I felt when I first got my powers. You know... before I dawned the Spider-Man persona." He took a breath then started again. "When you can do the things that I can, but you don't, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you." My blood ran cold because that is what I had been thinking all day. I stood there on the roof edge with my mouth partially open shocked at what Peter had just said. "Addy but you don't have powers." Peter spoke. "You can't do the things we can... so if you try to and you get hurt I would never forgive myself. What if something like Buckys situation happens to you."
My eyes started to tear up because I wanted to tell him. I wanted to tell him all of it, from the HYDRA files, my powers, to the new memory's but I couldn't bring my self to tell him. I let the tears slip silently down my cheek, I hoped that Peters wouldn't turn to see me. He turned the opposite way as me and looked at the door.
"Peter what is it?" I asked trying to keep my voice from cracking. "The pizza guy is here." About two seconds later the door opened and the pizza guy walked onto the roof looking around. I guess Peter had a spider sense moment that let him see that. The pizza delivery man said "Pizza delivery for... Friday?" The man said, I went to grab the pizza but Peter pushed me behind him. "Peter?" I whispered, he looked at the Pizza guy, in a split second he webbed the mans arm to the ground and legs together. "Peter! He is just trying to deliver our pizza!" I ran over to the pizza man. "Are you ok?" I asked him. The man pulled out a syringe of his pocket with his free hand. Just as he was about to stab me with it Peter jumped infront of me. Peter fell to the ground unconscious after being injected with the substance. "Hail Hydra." The man whispered. "Peter" I screamed as I fell to my knees. Feeling the energy move around me I grabbed Peter so he wouldn't be effected, then I blasted energy outward and I saw the man fly off the roof. I started sobbing while looking at Peters unconscious body. "Help!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "FRIDAY get anyone nearby!" I whimpered as I sat there. I didn't know what they had injected Peter with but I was sure it was meant to be for me.
