the fight

"HEY (YN)!!" I heared a voice behind me as I left the school. Syd and I looked back and saw Nicolas, one of the cool kids. He shoved me into the wall.

"Get your hands off me!" I said

"Or what, your imaginary friends gonna come after me?" He said. "I heared you talking to yourself. What are you, mental?" He teased. I tried to push him away but he was too strong.

"Hey!" Syd said.

"Syd he can't hear you" I said

"Is your imaginary friend here? Is he gonna hurt me?" He taunted. I got so mad but there was nothing I could do. Syd morphed into his human form and showed himself. He grabbed Nicolas by the neck from behind.

"Maybe I will" Syd said. Nicolas's face turned white and he looked back to see syd reaching up and holding him by the neck. "Listen, don't fucking touch (yn) or you'll pay" he said in a stern tone of voice.

I'd never heared syd cuss before. He must be really serious.

"Or what, wimp? Is your scrawny self gonna try and beat the shit outa me? Oh please. Like you can even throw a punch"

Syd did just that. Right in the jaw.

Nicolas was caught by suprise but after a few seconds he regained confidence. "Bring it on, twig" he said to syd.

"You guys, please no" I try to stop them from fighting but they were soon throwing fists. I tried to get between them but syd pushed me away. He punched Nicolas in the nose, the eye, the jaw, the stomach. But then Nicolas kneed him in the crotch and he knelt down in pain. He punched him in the throut and pushed him to the ground and then stomped on his face. I screamed.

"YOU MONSTER!!!!!" I yelled. Syd was on the ground gasping for air and his face was all bloody. I ran to Nicolas and punched him in the throut and pushed him over.  I kicked him while syd layed on the ground in a ball crying.

"Leave us the fuck alone, got it?" I said. I helped syd off the ground and we ran. When we got to the woods I asked him why he didn't use his angel powers when he got in the fight.

"I can't use my powers to hurt a human while I'm showing myself, I have to use my own physical strength, which I don't have much of" he explained.

"So Whyd you pick a fight with him if you knew you couldn't win?" I asked.

"Because I didn't want him to hurt you" he told me. " I couldn't just stand there and watch"

I nodded and hugged him. "I'm sorry syd. I feel like it's all my fault"

"Don't worry" he said and hugged me tightly. I felt his soft hair against my face. It was like a fuffy cloud. Hugging him was the best feeling in the world. It felt so warm when I was with him. Finally he let go.

"Here, lets go home and I'll make you a cup of hot chocolate" I said. "Hopefully that'll make you feel a little better"

Syd nodded. "Okay" he wispered, still some tears in his eyes. I kissed his cheek and we walked home hand in hand.
