August

I sat on the couch wrapped in a blanket with a bagel in hand. I opened my laptop and waited for it to load.

"You know I still can't get a hang of this whole internet thing" Syd said as he sat down next to me and leaned his head on my shoulder.

"It definetly takes some getting used to, there's so many websites and they're all so different" I said

"Yah"

I logged onto reddit to browse pink floyd shitposts on r/pinkfloydcirclejerk.

"Circle jerk" Syd read aloud. "What does that mean?"

"Uh.. nothing important" I said. He grumbled something. I clicked on the top post. It was of corse a meme.

"I don't understand it" said syd. "Theres... nothing to it. I don't see the joke!" Please explain the joke"

"There is no joke" I said, laughing. "It's just... humanity's standards for humor have gone down uncannily low since you died. Now people will laugh at "corm flaek" and you know what? Personally I think it's pretty facinating" I explained. Syd said nothing and just nodded in confusion.

"Is there anything else to the internet besides these... 'memes'?" He asked.

"Yah, but not much. You can talk to random people. It's fun but they'll most likely get mad if you don't agree with them that they'res like... seven genders"

"Seven?? What???"

"Yep. No joke."

Syd shook his head. "This is confusing. How bout we try this computor thing another day? I wanna watch movie. What movies have come out since I died?" He asked.

"Well there's (your favorite movie)" I said.

"What's it about?"

I explain to him what it's about. We agree to watch it together on the couch. After a while I get bored and go get my sketchbook. I absent mindedly start to sketch a drawing of syd. He seems to notice and glances over at me, obviously trying very hard not to move his head.

When it's finished he grabs the sketchbook from me. " haha! I saw you drawing the whole time! You thought you could hide it from me!" He said.

"Haha, I knew you knew" I said.

"Yah, suure" Syd teased. "This is really good. Can I keep it?" He asked.

"Sure" I said.

Syd clinged to the drawing and held it close to his heart. I could tell it meant a lot to him by his huge smile that shone every time he looked at my drawing. I could only imagine what his smile would look like if he knew my sketchbook was filled with drawings of him.
