The woods

"Hey Will, wanna play D&D?" Mike wheeler was sat on the table where they used to play D&D. It has been so long since they last played D&D and Will the wise did miss it but he was hoping they could go down to the woods. You see ever since Will went to the upsidedown he had a fear of woods, him and Mike would take weekly trips down there to help him overcome it. Every time Will would panic so Mike always hugged him and helped him through it. Will hated going to the woods more then he could explain but on the other hand it was quality time he spent with Mike.
Ever since Will returned from the upside down he developed a crush on Mike. From a young age Will knew he didn't like girls but had never come out, other then accidentally to the party. How ever much he liked Eleven he was so jealous and wanted to spend every minute with Mike.
"Umm well I was kinda thinking we could go down the woods?" Shit did I make it obvious?
Mikes POV
Yes he asked to go to the woods! We always bonded so well there! I hope one day I get the courage to ask him out. But he will probably say no! He'll say no right?
Normal POV
Today they decided to go to somewhere different, today they were going to the woods where Will went missing. They had gone to many woods but this one was hard, it brought back so many awful memories, not just for Will but for Mike too. That was the day Mike lost will and he always wondered why he felt heartbroken when he lost him just like he did El, after so long he had now figured it out. It was love.
Sweat dripped Down Wills pale face, his hand started shaking and then he went into a full blown panick attack. The young boy legged it to his house. When he arrived there he just collapsed on his bed in tears, he didn't expect to get this scared but all he could think about was the monster, the upsidedown and the week of torture.
"Will it's ok, I won't ever let anything bad happen to you I promise!"
Mike gave Will the biggest hug and eventually they lay there for hours sleeping, most of the time they weren't actually sleeping but pretending because they didn't want this moment to end.
After 4 hours Joyce came home from work and saw them, everyone else would have shouted at them. I mean there 2 teen boys sharing a bed and cuddling.  Joyce didn't care as long as Will was happy that's all that could possibly matter to her!
Michael was the first to wake up when he sensed someone's gaze on him. It was in that moment that he recognised the staring eye as Joyce byers not only that but he recognised that he had his arm wrapped around Will! His mind went into fight or flight and it picked flight. He ran out of the house but Joyce stopped him,she knew why he ran of course she did! But she needed him to know that's it's ok, she already knew they had feelings for each other. I mean they made it pretty obvious.
"Mike Mike! It's ok, I understand. You don't need to run. I'm here I'll always be here." Joyce's tone was very reassuring.
Mike didn't know why but he collapsed in her arms crying. Maybe it was because he was accepted? Maybe it was because he had someone to talk to? All he knew is that he felt a sense of relief.
It took Will a few hours to wake up within them hours Mike and Joyce has talked about his feelings. Mike had asked her not to tell anyone as he wasn't ready or sure, of course she said yes. Joyce was an unlikely candidate to who Michael first thought he would come out to. He always thought it would be Nancy but he still would. One day.
That night Mike went to bed that night replaying the events of that day, he was also debating what he would say to Eleven. Yes they weren't going out but she had the right to know before anyone! Well that was it he would tell her tomorrow...

But mike will also come out to Nancy. Els already come out. Max will come out to kind of...😬 and Will will come out to his mum and Jonathan separately!
