The start of the trip

Day of the trip
"Michael are you ready? Your due at Steve's in 10 minutes!" Mrs wheeler shouted down the stairs to the musty basement. It was the day of the camping trip! They had decided to meet at Steve's, him and Robin were to driving. The girls and camping gear with Robin and the boys and food with Steve.
"Yes mum! I'm almost ready!" Well that was a lie, he hadn't even started packing yet! He was so nervous, he'd be sharing a tent with Will! He didn't know what to pack, clothes and some games is all he could think of. Steve had everything they needed. All he needed was clothes and oh right! He needed a sleeping bag! He was going to be so late.
At Steve's house
"Good morning El and Max! Are you excited?" The two girls decided to car share, well when I say decide El didn't give her a choice. Max's parents were away and Billy refused to take her. Of course Eleven didn't want Max to skate all the way there! Plus Hopper was happy to pick her up.
"Ahoy Steve, Ahoy Robin! Yes we're very excited, at least I am." Ever since Eleven learnt the word Ahoy it's all she said.
"Max are you ok? You seem sad," Steve said looking at Max who had a tear running down her cheek.
"What um yeah yeah I'm ok."
"He hurt you again didn't he? And before you say anything yes we all know, we've wanted to talk to you but we didn't want to make it worse for you." Dustin said as he walked through the open door.
"I didn't know you knew but yes he did." Max felt relieved that other people knew but also fear. If Billy found out he may very well kill her...
"Max you need to show us," Will now walked in and said that, it seemed everybody knew what they were going to say.
It surprised the whole group to see Max roll up her sleeve to show a big bruise but that wasn't the one from today, the one from today was bleeding and throbbing. Max had clearly tried to clean it but it's hard on yourself.
"Come one Max, I know first aid so I can clean it up." Steve lead her to his kitchen where there sat a first aid box. It was painful to clean it but within 10 minutes it was over.
"Steve, when did you learn first aid?" Max asked Steve. She thought how unlike him it was.
"After The junk yard, I realised you shits are clumsy and will need first aid."
For the first time for what seemed like forever Max laughed.
Back in the living room
"Hey Mike, um are you ok with us sharing the tent?" After a very long time of waiting for Mike and waiting to have the courage ask Mike that. All Will could think is that Mike would say no, of course he wouldn't but Will didn't know that.
"Yeah that's perfect Will!" Ah shit I sounded a bit enthusiastic didn't I? I mean yeah of course I want to share a tent with him! I don't mean it in a creepy way I just like him!
"Right dingus' lets go, el and Max with me boys with Steve. Get your snacks and water for the journey." Robin said as she motion towards the door. This was going to be one long journey!
Robins car
"Right girls, what music do you want? Or you can just sleep, looks like you made up your mind. You to belong together." The two girls had just sat down in the car and they were already fast asleep. El had her head on Max's shoulder and Max had her arm around El. Robin assumed that they got no sleep worrying about the trip, she wasn't wrong.
Steve's car
"Umm Steve I need the loo!"
"Dustin we've only been on the road 5 minutes," the whole group rolled there eyes knowing they would have to stop at a petrol station soon. Every trip they went on Dustin needed tho loo every 5 minutes. Right now Dustin was navigating, Lucas was reading and Will and Mike were sharing headphone while listing to Mikes Walkman. They loved spending time together, both for the same reason and neither were quite ready to admit that to each other. Not yet but sooner then they think...
