THE YEAR OF 1985

The return of the mage

"Right you little shits get in and we can go!" Steve the mum of the group shouted at the party. The rest of them just stood there laughing! They didn't see the need to be driven to the junk yard, it's was so much harder! But Steve insisted on there safety, after the past events they all grew very close with Steve especially Dustin.
Steve had now moved out of his parents house, yes he was young but he didn't get along with them and with his job at 'scoops ahoy' he managed to save up enough money. On top of that he also traded in his car for an older one to get more money. The old Steve Harrington was behind him! He was now 'mama Steve' and he loved the party like his own! Every week he insisted for them to come for dinner and when they can a sleepover!
It was also a traditional thing that they went down to the junkyard, it was like there place as it was where Steve became mama Steve! Normally they would go there and chat but today they decided to camp there for the night and play D&D. No one had a tent so they all just slept in the old bus, they put a certain up so Max could has privacy as she's the only girl.
ELEVEN
"Hopper it's been years! I want to see Mike!" El screamed at Hopper trying to control her powers. It had been about 2 years since the night at the school when she disappeared. She missed Mike but she wasn't sure she felt like she used to about him. Still she wanted to see him and the rest of the group so so bad! Tonight was her only chance, Hopper was working nights and it had been years so everything has quieted down with the hint for her. She was going to brake every rule but she had to see them!
1 Hour later
"Bye El, remember the rules and if your hungry there's eggos in the fridge."
This it is! This is the day she sees her friends again! Pulling a blindfold over her her eyes and tracked down Mike.
The junkyard? I can get there soon! Eleven thought
With a wipe of her nose she ran outside the cabin for the first time in years! Lucky it was dark otherwise people would see her. She ran so Fast down the abandoned train tracks until she met the end...
PARTY
It was 12am and of course Steve was making them go to bed. Just as they were settling down in the rusty bus they heard a noice, like a rustling in the trees. Steve's instinct set in and he grabbed his nail bar and ran out. He told the group to stay in the bus but did they? No they didn't. A mysterious figure arose from the dark shadows, at first the figure was blurry but as it stepped into the moon light it was more then obvious who it was.
"Eleven? Omg eleven It's really you!" A sobbing Mike said while running into her arms.
They sobbed in each arms for a few minutes before separating, that was when the rest of the party rang up to her and hugged her. Max was excited but nervous, she had heard so much about this girl but never actually met her; what did she say? Did she hug her? Turns out she didn't need to worry, Eleven came up to her and hugged her. Max userly hates hugs but it felt right. After a while of just sitting enjoying each other's presents Steve finally plucked up the courage to ask where el had been. She stuterd on her words but eventually she told them everything, about the eggos in the box, Hopper, the cabin and the night she disserpeard.
Eventually they all drifted of to sleep, well everyone but mike he just laid there debating everything. He always thought that El was the one for him but now, now he doesn't no what he feels. I mean yes he can't even explain how happy he is she's returned! But he also feels more like there friends now nothing more, I mean he likes someone else now, someone who he shouldn't like. What would he tell Eleven? We she hate him? Does she already know?
The next morning was cold and raining, nevertheless the party still stayed out but they did eventually decide to go to the arcade. Eleven had never been to the arcade and wow it was amazing! Well that was until Hopper crashed the party, of course he would his adoptive daughter went missing! When he stormed through the glass doors everyone thought he would be so angry but he wasn't, he saw how happy el was and that made him happy. It was amazing how one small thing Like a young girl playing arcade games could change everything...

Hey lovely's! I hope you like the first chapter of 'The summer of 1985' this is mainly an elmax fanfic but it does have byler in it.
Also a bit of back story:
Jopper are dating but not living together yet, nobody knows about eleven being with hopper.
Will has come out to his friends but not his family
Max is part of the group and she became part of it just like she did in season 2 but lumax isn't a thing. Eleven never returned.
Steve beca,e the mama we know and love the same way (demogorgans at the junk yard)
Basically the only thing that didn't happen was eleven returning and closing the gate.
I said in it that she's hoppers adoptive daughter, she is but not officially.
I also said mike likes someone he shouldn't like. That's only what he thinks because he's not used to these feelings and doesn't know how to react. I'm a huge LGBTQ+ supporter!
Also this is not a hate towards other ships! I love lumax and mileven a lot!
