THE YEAR OF 1985

The walk

The next morning got of to a good start, Robin had made eggs for breakfast, the party had sat around there campfire planning there next campaign and they had tried to toast eggos (Els request.)
"You ready to go for a swim?" Mike asked Will.
"I don't know, I might go in later but I want to go for a walk."
"Is it ok if I come?"
"Of course it is Mike!" A smile formed on the two boys faces.
After about 15 minutes of walk of silence but not an awkward silence the two decided to sit on the sand and watch the sea. As the waves crashed the boys both wanted to tell each other the same thing but they didn't know how to go about it! Maybe today wasn't the day.
"Will? There's something I need to ask..."
"Go ahead."
"How-how did you know that you were g-ga-g."
"Gay?"
"Yeah"
"I don't know, I guess it's something I've always known. Why do you ask?"
"I don't know I've been feeling strange. It's not just lately I felt it before El but not much, it was when she left I realised what I felt. I'm gay Will." Mike had tears running down his face, he knew Will would accept him but this was the first time he had said these words and felt proud.
"I'm proud of you Mike, I'm so very proud!" Tears streamed down Will face now as he pulled his best friend into a hug. He was more proud then he could say of Mike! He loved him so much and he knew that this was the time to tell him...
"Mike there's something I need to tell you, I like you Mike and not in a friendship way more then that." Why Will! You didn't need to say anything this is going to ruin your friendship!
"Oh I wasn't expecting that but," Mike was shocked so his words came out wrong! Will ran of, he regretted everything!
"Will! I like you too! And as more then a friend!" This time mike screamed this from a very long distance!
"Y you like me?"
"Of course I do Will!"
Will and Mike ran up to each other on the beach and had the longest hug. Then as the sun set behind the two boys they stared into each other's eyes and leaned into kiss, it was short but nice.
After a lot by long time of hugging and crying they walked back to the group. It turns out they had been gone a lot longer then they thought. The party were now preparing dinner!
"About time! We've been waiting ages!"
"Yeah sorry, i have something we need to tell you at dinner." Mike said.
30 minutes later
"So Mike what do you want to tell us?" Asked Lucas.
"Well I guess there's something I've known for a while, but I haven't fully understood it. I-i-I..." Will put a reassuring hand on Mikes knee to tell him everything will be ok.
"I'm Gay or BI I'm not 100% sure what one but me and Will are also going out now..."
Everybody was in complete shock well everybody except Eleven of course! It wasn't a bad shock. They were happy and shocked.
"Awww your cute together! I'm proud of you Mike!" Robin said while looking over at a tearing up Steve.
"Are you crying dingus?"
"I'm just so proud of you Mike! And now you and Will are a couple! It's just I feel like a proud mum!" A sobbing Steve tried to say.
That evening was spent of the group talking, laughing, playing games and singing. They mainly sung 'Never ending story' Which was there favourite song! Mainly because it annoyed Dustin as it was his and Suzie's song that they sung together.
They were awake till the early hours of the morning, the whole group could have stayed awake all night but Steve insisted they went to bed. Even though they were not long inti the trip this was the best trip ever! It had already brought together 1 couple who knew who else it could bring together...
