We all stared at the scene that was playing before us. It was as if time had slowed down and my head was still trying to process what we had just witnessed. I stood still as I watched Lord Aido's body turn to nothing but dust at Kaname's feet. My shocked hazel orbs slowly traveled from his shoes to his calm beautiful face, searching for the guilt in his eyes. But I couldn't see anything... Those eyes held something I could not read no matter how hard I tried.

"What did my father do...?! Father!" Aido frantic shout snapped me from my shock as he took a few steps up the stairs with hesitation. Then, my eyes locked on to Kaname's, refusing to break away. I wanted to speak, but my words were caught in my throat and my mouth locked shut. Kaname's sudden voice that held no gentle tone like usual reached our ears. "For a long time... I started having doubts... But I decided to live out time with you. But it seems our hearts want different things... so I must carry out what I originally planned." He finally looked away from me and glanced at the shocked girl beside me while his body began to disperse into bats and flying away quickly, leaving us standing there in silence. "I'm sorry, Yuki."

Kaien shouted at us to stay inside as he quickly ran out of the castle to pursue Kaname, Yuki quickly following him shortly which left me and Aido alone. I watched as Aido fell to his knees on top of his fathers remains while his body shook slightly, my heart aching once more.

'Why... I too was in the very spot he was... when my family...' I felt tears well up and fall down my pale cheek as I slowly walked up to the steps quietly and falling to my knees next to Aido who was silently crying. I gently wrapped my arms around him and held him close, feeling his body tense up quickly.

"...W-What are you doing...?!" His broken voice complained but he didn't move away. I bit my lip and fought the tears that were threatening to spill once more as I held him tightly, feeling his silent tears soak the front of my coat.

The three of us sat in silence while the paddy wagon sped through the dark woods and straight towards the headquarters. I sat next to Aido, who kept his pained gaze on the floor of the paddy wagon in silence. I quietly glanced up at Yuki who was chained up in cuffs, noticing her eyes were filled with sadness and guilt whenever she looked at Aido. The heavy feeling returned as I wanted to comfort them both... The scenes from not too long ago kept replaying over and over in my mind. But it's not just me that keeps replaying it...

'Why...? Why did he do this...? Why is he doing this to Yuki and Aido..."

After some time has passed, we finally arrived at the headquarters... We all got out the van quietly and made our way into the large building. Before we entered, the hunter's grabbed our arms and tugged us slightly through the entrance so that the trap on the doors wouldn't activate. While doing this, Shiro happened to be standing nearby speaking to the other hunters as he noticed us being pulled in by hunters.

"Emi? The hell is going on?" I heard Shiro's voice call out, I lowered my gaze to avoid his eyes as he quickly walked over to us with confusion and concern.

"Shiro. Calm down... Emi isn't in any trouble. I'll fill you in after we do this." Kaien informed him before making us go down a dim lit hallway and coming to a stop at an empty dark room. I glanced over to Aido beside me, his face showing many emotions. The headmaster said he didn't have to come but for some reason, he refused to leave.

"Hanabusa. Emi. You can stay here for a bit... Yuki, come with us." Kaien spoke quietly as he opened the door to let us in the dark room. All that was in the room was a small cheap bed to sit on and a table in the corner.
